NYE Western Cruise 2008 - New Thread

Memorial Day is over, and although we didn't go to any events, I watched the ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, and it was very moving. It was a beautiful warm, sunny day.

There was so much traffic that I could only find a parking spot two blocks away from my house, but now tonight everything is back to normal, which means I only have to park one block away.:upsidedow

So I was making a mental list of all the big things standing between now and the cruise, and here's what I came up with:

1. Brother and family visiting from North Dakota.
2. Finish 2 commissioned story books.
3. My Christmas ADR window opens.
4. M. Night Shayamalan's new movie The Strangers comes out.
5. Chad off to Italy for 6 weeks.
6. Twilight Zone Marathon on the 4th of July.
7. Mel's 47th birthday.
8. Chad and Louise off to Universal for a week 3 days after he gets home.
9. Outfitting Jesse for the la cross team before school starts.
10. Back to school for my kids, and my new 5th graders in catechism class.
11. Halloween Party.
12. Chad's 23rd birthday.
13. Give birth to my new baby.
14. Thanksgiving at my other brother's house (Cory's house).
15. My 46th birthday. (OMG!!:faint: )
16. Christmas shopping.
17. Last minute cruise shopping.
18. Cruise packing.
19. Christmas Eve Dinner Party.
20. Leave on Christmas morning for our 6 am flight to Orlando.
21. Two full days in WDW.
22. Head to the port early on the 27th for NEW YEAR'S EVE CRUISE 2008!

Oh, and I have to squeeze in making Palo ressies!

:rotfl2: Sorry!:lmao:
I just threw that in there for fun! No baby!:rotfl:

OK ok ok
It was a test to see if we read
Hey Artman :cool1: WE PASSED:thumbsup2

we're home...hate to tell ya looks like we are cancelling. Paul wants me to do it now, but I'm holding out. If my mom's house sells and if we get an upgrade to the mid ship cat 3 (yes I wait-listed us on board) and mom wants to go, she will take Paul's place and share the cost. All this has to happen before paid in fulldate too. Otherwise, no trip. 15 days was enough to hold us over for a while. We also liked Cabo so much that we are thinking that we would rather go there for the NYE week instead.

Haven't had time to go back and read what went on here, so please forgive me if I've missed something.

I've brought back with me a Cabo Crud Cold, Wilson too. I take him to the doctor at 2pm today and me tomorrow at 4pm.

Missed you all, especially my Xmas 2005 friends

No, please don't bring whoopie cushions! Whoopie cushions and rum drinks turn me into a giggling fool!

ok, I've gone back to read and I can't not post... I got Wilson a fart machine for this cruise. Yes he loves it :rotfl2:

Do ya think you could get a text message to Nan?

They are at Aruba toiday...she hasn't checked in and hasn't shown up on any of the posts yet :confused3

Was that a Tigger patch? He's cute!

you should have tried, got all my email no problem...missed you too, but you know that by now huh?

Looky what I just saw...I finally found Nan and crew!!

troublemakers that we are....:stir:

This afternoon Jesse and his friends are going to the Conan O'Brian taping. I told him to try to sneak some pictures on his cell phone.

Tig, it's good you're not coming up today...it's a rainy miserable day. I had wanted to take you to John Lennon's building (where Rosemary's Baby was filmed) so you can take photos, especially at night. It's a gothic-style building, and I think you'll love it.

I saw Nan and fam. in that picture you posted. My first thought wa bless Paul, the way he let's Nan dress him up in all those matching outfits!! i sent her a text message, but but I don't think she'll be able to read it yet. I remember my cell phone worked on St Thomas, but not on St Maarten. i hope she replies!

never got your texts, my emailed worked like a charm...

look who is wearing the thing 1, it isn't me...can you believe that he wanted the shirts..well it was worth a try, he did put on his and bring me mine, I was at a hair appointment and had to change in the lobby.

Yes we do...

I was just checking the webcam for the Gatun locks at Panama, the Magic is just about thru that area.

http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

I'm watching the webcams, too, but can't find the Magic. There's a thread about it, so I'm going to see if anyone has the right link.

You had to click on the second tab, but I think you can only see it if it was currently going thru, I lucked out, as it was 9:34 am and I got to see the back end of the Magic!!

Yeah, I went back to see it again and it's not on any of the cams now~

:(

Deb Wills said people slept on Deck 10 just to get the first chance to see the canal...

I'm sure you heard by now that a US Navy sub went thru right before us and the webcams had to be shut down. The decks weren't as crowded as everyone makes them out to be. Some people slept out but I think it was for the fun and adventure, not so much the first spot. I was able to get in front with some Diser friends and watch the first lock opening. It was cool. Paul and the kids watched from our verdana. Funny, family shots will need some photoshopping help. Tigg, can I enlist your services, to implant me on my verdana with my family?

We also liked Cabo so much that we are thinking that we would rather go there for the NYE week instead.

Chad and Louise were in Cabo, and they LOVED it.

Now why the heck would you get Wilson a fart machine to bring on the cruise??:rotfl2: Did he use it? Any funny stories to tell?

Nan
Please Don't Leave Us. Didn't You Tell Colleen Not To Leave.

Glad You Had A Great Time. I Am Jealous You Know.

i downloaded the videos from the aug '05 crossing - but missed this a.m's. Ryan & I sure wanted to stay on the ship that day....but there is always work to go too & he was starting his 1st year as a freshman - they were very good about letting him miss the 1st 3 days....but think they may have really frowned on missing 2.5 wks!!!! they don't allow vacations as excused absences....i don't know how Molly & Wilson are doing that...

Both Molly and Wilson had independent study. And remember they are in 2nd and 5th grade, not high school. I doubt that Molly will be able to leave school again in the future. Wilson has no problem he is so far advanced of his classmates that he didn't miss a beat. The bad part for Molly was she was working on a in class research paper, so we had to do it ourselves. Not homework, just actual in class school work. She wasn't able to get feedback from her teacher on her progress (she could have emailed for this, but she procranstinated) so she turned it in today (first day back) and will take what she gets for a grade. Molly is entering this 3rd trimester with straight A's so we hope all will stay the same.

Hey there!!! SOOOOO glad you're having a great time....can't wait to see some of your photos. What are you doing in PV? That is where Ryan & I swam with the dolphins....

We did the Las Calestas(sp) DCL excursion. Kids loved the pool, swam in the crocodile slide (ok me too and Paul) had lunch, Molly said Hi to Ducky, yes Ducky was on our cruise, and she thanked him for the litho. Unfortunately we didn't get it signed by him. I don't do those lines, too crazy for me. We opted to have it signed by the characters instead. it's cute.

I LOVE Nan's cleavage!!!!!!!:rotfl: She's getting hotsie totsie! Good for you, Nan!!!

If only I had a skinny body to enjoy it with...maybe next year, huh? I'm down 6 pounds from the start of the cruise, yes I lose weight on vacation, I do all things backwards, dontchaknow.:rotfl:
