That is so cool Nan!

Does she have her formal and semi formal dresses yet?

For that matter, do you!?

:woohoo:

She does not, I'm wearing something from my closet.

I think I will next send Lee with her to get her formal wear. I hate shopping for clothes.

Oh no don't me started on clothes again! I won't be able to stop!

how about wax? seems I can't stop that conversation can I. sometime you are going to have to tell the rest of this group why this is so funny to you and me and a few more people...but I think it's an in person conversation, over and after a few drinks :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We need to find that youtube clip to go with the story!

Just so they get the full effect ;)

Too bad I can't send Aisling over...she'd have a blast shopping with Mom~

I sure would! Not for the cruise, but I was looking at Kate Spade's fall collection to get some ideas for the Fantasy Fashion League. Deep earthy colors are in for fall, and black hose with black pumps for a lean, long look. Imagine that with a black pencil skirt, and a white ruffle silk blouse, a thick gold belt to create an hourglass cut, and blood red nail polish! Very little make-up, just a sheer lip gloss and an eyelash dye. :woohoo:

Nan, I so cannot wait to met your mom! I hope it works out that you'll be at WL. I really think you'll all love it.

Artie, (should we call you Artie or Artman on the cruise?), thank you for posting Condi's statement. And I second her emotion thanking our Canadian friends! Now about that gold lame' dress you're wearing...Rus, do you have one in youe closet for Artman to borrow, maybe next to your babydoll pjs? LOL

Sheila, are you doing a back to back cruise (Christmas and New Year's)?

Judy and Kaz:hug:

Grim, I nominate YOU to divulge the famous waxing story that happened on the DCL bus back in 2005!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought Chad had the youtube up, but I'm not sure.

Not to get back on the 9/11 topic again, Chad posted some pics he took this evening down by the Brooklyn Bridge. (That's Louise's head in some of them.)

Yeah, she told you to "hold" it LOL ON YOUR HEAD!!!!!! Please oh please post the pic!

About Nan's famous waxing story, folks, at the risk of getting points (again!), here are some key words, and Grim can fill youse in.

Aisling.. I agree DO NOT take any of it down. I dont think most of us were as close to what happened as you were. It was eye opening. I did not know anyone that worked in those builidings, nor did I know anyone on the FDNY or the NYPD, nor on those planes. And while I always felt that I got the whole thing because of how much tv I watched in the hours, days and weeks that passed. I now understand that I didnt REALLY get it as much as I should have.

It was a good cry. The kind that needs to happen from time to time. The kind that lets you know that you are human, and that you have empathy as well as sympathy for others.

K, Grim?

I'm not sure the word "bushes" is family friendly when used in this manner. :)

Also, are you sure it's "scolding" and not "scalding". :scared1:

I'm not sure I want to hear the whole story, because the one in my head is too good.

In order to make my fictional version of the tale interesting, I may have to change "Bad 2005 Christmas cruisers" to "Naughty 2005 Christmas cruisers"

We may have been bad & naughty; but, we were good:thumbsup2

BTW Tuesday is Tigg's Birthday :lovestruc

DELETED

I'll let Grim get in trouble with this one instead of me! LOL

Artie, Rockin' Bar D...drink in hand...be there for details!

Sheila, are you doing a back to back cruise (Christmas and New Year's)?

Hmm... a Dis sleuth ;)

Yep, we booked both cruises forever ago with every intention of choosing one and cancelling the other.
(I know; bad, bad, pushes up prices for everyone... so sorry) :guilty:

I guess we were so enthusiastic about our holiday plans, the Christmas cruise turned into an extended family thing.
After finalizing all the bookings (don't know how I turned into the family TA, but I did) I jokingly suggested that I was going to need a vacation after the vacation. I really was kidding at first, but the more I thought about it, the better it sounded. :thumbsup2

It didn't take much convincing to get the fam onboard with the idea. We all thought our 7 day cruise was way too short after having done the 14 night PC repo.

So, we're going from being part of a big group with 8 cabins on the Christmas cruise, to just our immediate family in 2 cabins on the New Years cruise.

He sent me this email from work just now:

Hi Ais,

I had to wait for Sam to leave before I can start writing. After thinking about it, I have to pass on this cruise. I have more dental work to be done and that cost money. Also who knows something might happen with either of my parents, then I have to go for a visit and that cost money. So, sorry for any inconvenience that I might have put you through.

Love,
Mel

Oh Aisling. I am so sorry. I know you were looking forward to having him on the ship w/you. Do you and the kids still plan on going?

You must be heartbroken.
