NYE Strategy from Wilderness Lodge

I would like someone to evaluate my New Year's Eve strategy. We have a six year old daughter who loves MK, but the thought of getting there very early in the morning, fighting the crowd until midnight, doesn't sound like a great day to me. We are staying at WL. What we are now planning is to either do Blizzard Beach, the resort pool, or possibly Animal Kingdom on 12/31. Then, we have a priority seating at 8:20 at Whispering Canyon. After that, we plan to go over to the Polynesian to watch the fireworks from the Beach. My transportation plan is to take the resort launch from WL to the Contemporary, and the monorail to the Poly. Then after the fireworks, take the monorail from the Poly to the Contemporary, boat back from the Contemporary to the WL. Will that transportation setup work in light of the big crowds exiting MK at that time? Any comments would be appreciated.

after the fireworks - a ton of people will leave the MK.

this might be a good time to go to the MK. besides the second parade is going on.....
