We have to make a decision for our NYE plans. We arrive the 31st around 3:00, so we won’t go to the parks, but we want to catch some fireworks.
1) Are the parks still scheduled to do the 6:30 fireworks? I don’t think we will make it to midnight with three younger kiddos (10, 8, and 2) but would love to watch an earlier display.
2) Assuming the fireworks show is at 6:30, would Chef Mickey, ‘Ohana, or Storybook dining at Artist Point be good options to view the 6:30 fireworks?
3) How do we get to these resorts? We are at All Star Movies.
Thank you so much for your help!

Sorry, I can’t answer that. I don’t think Disney has announced the fireworks schedule for that night yet.

‘Ohana is the only one of those three that would have a view of fireworks, and only from a very few tables. A better plan would be to watch the fireworks from the Poly beach, with ‘Ohana dinner before or after, or from the 4th floor deck at the Contemporary before or after dinner at Chef Mickey’s. Fireworks can be seen from the lakefront at Wilderness Lodge before or after Artist Point dinner, but the view is limited there. Keep in mind that all viewing spots are likely to be crowded for NYE fireworks.

From the All Stars, take the bus to MK. Then monorail or boat to Poly, walk or monorail to CR, or boat to WL.
Thank you so much for your help!
You’re quite welcome! Have a great trip!

Thank you! I appreciate the information!

Some years, Disney has closed the Poly beach for hotel guests only. You may want to pay attention to the latest information so that you are not surprised.

Traffic will be awful on the way to MK and going in the area might take much longer than usual. When we were at WDW for NY in 2018/2019, we went to Disney Springs for our NYE dinner and enjoyed the activities offered at our resort (POFQ). We even had a visit by King Mickey at midnight. We are planning on doing something similar this year.

Since none of the restaurants you mentioned really have a great view of the fireworks and that beach access might be restricted to hotel guests staying at that resort, I would plan to watch the fireworks at TTC then go eat to the restaurant with the menu you prefer. Storybook will be the most difficult one to get to and most difficult to book. Since it will be you first night, all those restaurants might no have open reservations when you try so have a plan B and C such as Kona, Steakhouse 71 or Grand Floridian Café.

With 60+10 ADR bookings, it’s pretty unlikely you will have a lot of choice regarding table service restaurants in general, and, I‘d expect, nome at the resorts in the MK area.

On/site resort guests can book ADRs up to an additional 10 days beyond the 60!day rule that applies to other guests. Some restaurants may have special NYE experiences, that play by different rules.

Shoot, I didn’t think about the 10+ window. Do you think the Boardwalk area would be a better option? We planned DS towards the end of the trip so I can bring some Gideon’s cookies home! We went last year, and I haven’t been able to get that one out of my mind.:)

DS doesn’t shoot off any fireworks.

Are you actually arriving @ your resort at 3, or landing at MCO @ 3?

How quickly can you do what you want to and then leave the resort? Using Disney transportation will take about an hour (budgeting time broadly).

If you have multi-day park tickets, how much would it cost to add a day? The parks are going to be exceedingly busy, but I’d consider adding a ticket or just staying at the resort.
