NYE MK fireworks

If you have been to MK on NYE before, in your opinion, is it worth fighting the massive crowd to see the fireworks? We are coming in on the 31st so we can’t go on the 30th. We thought it would be neat to see both the Christmas and NYE fireworks but now that I have read how crowded it is down there we are starting to wonder if we need to change to a slower park. We are two adults, no kids. We go to WDW regularly, 1-3 times per year. Are the fireworks so much different from the regular fireworks that we need to subject ourselves to the masses?

Just FYI, all sources seem to indicate that both the 6:30 and 11:50 shows on 12/30 and 12/31 will be Fantasy in the Sky. It doesn’t look like the early show will be Holiday Wishes like in year’s past. (I’m not sure if that’s what you were thinking when you say “neat to see both the Christmas and NYE fireworks”)

We’re doing Disney over New Years for the first time this weekend. Personally I don’t think it’ll be ‘that bad’ crowd wise... nothing we can’t handle. But I guess we’ll see!

But yes, we want to watch Fantasy in the Sky in person, mainly for something new/different.

Yeah, there’s a lot of conflicting info out there and several threads that have debated it. Unfortunately Disney doesn’t have a single source of 12/30 & 12/31 info, but from what is out there, it would appear it’ll be Fantasy in the Sky both shows. (Small caveat in case I’m wrong and it’s not!)

You can watch the fireworks from one of the MK resorts and although you are not right there and it's a different perspective, it is nice that you can see them being shot off all around the lagoon.
