NYE---getting back to resort?

Does anyone have experience with Epcot and getting back to the Polynesian after New Years Eve festivities? What's the best transportation strategy on this ridiculously crazy night?

Yes, last year. It took us almost an hour just to walk out of EPCOT (Morocco to monorail station via back exit) at about 12:30.There was a monorail waiting with plenty of seats. We sat for about 5 minutes and 15 minutes later we were back in our room. The auto traffic leaving the EPCOT parking lot was incredible to see. I would have just sat in the car and had a nap until it cleared.

As stated by PP, Monorail from Epcot to TTC is your best bet. Once you arrive at TTC it will probably be easiest to just walk over to Poly unless you want to wait and transfer to the resort monorail to the next stop. Have fun!

Adjust your attitude to "go with the flow, no matter what", LOL!

There will be crowds & lines and lots and lots and lots of other people who also want to get back to their resort. It will take longer than you think to get back to the resort.

Pack your patience and your sense of humor!

We left Epcot after the fireworks. There was a backstage route open near Canada. We got back to BLT in about 25 minutes using the monorail.

Definitely monorail to TTC and then walk. One year we stayed at Contemporary and thought we'd skip the long monorail lines by walking to Beach Club, taking the bus to MK (it was open until 3am), and then walking. BIG mistake - caught in traffic for 2 hours. Everyone else on the bus had the same idea, and we asked driver if she could get radio permission to drop us at Contemporary but they didn't do it.
