I've heard that on NYE there is a band on the village green, but what else goes on? I'm assume it's packed.

Also, what is Disney's policy on confetti? Is it okay if I bring some along, or do then frown on it (safety issue)?

Any advice you NYE/BW experts can give would be appreciated! ;)

You assume correctly. ;) All of the parks hand out hats and noisemakers in the evening. People from all over come to the parks to celebrate. There are spectacular fireworks in all the parks (except AK) at midnight. There's the band the last few years. They have also started to have a reasonable event at Atlantic Dance (used to be a high ticket event). Keep your eye out closer to NYE for info on what's been scheduled. All over Epcot there are "parties" in every country with lots of different entertainment. MGM usually has a "name" entertainer of some sort. PI has a 21 and over special ticket event with a name band. CG has a high-priced special evening. GF has a dance in the ballroom.

I've spent the past 2 NYE at BW. In '02, it poured rain bigtime for most of the night. So it was pretty deserted around the BW. In '03, the weather was great. The band on the green drew a nice crowd (not huge) and there were lots of people milling around on the BW. We turned in before midnight, so we didn't see how crowded it was in the later hours at the clubs, etc.

I will miss being there this coming NYE. :(

We had a birds eye view of all the festivities last NYE, having the luxury of the Grand Villa on the 3rd floor, overlooking the boardwalk. My kids made the mistake at midnight of throwing streamers off the balconies, and were reprimanded by two different CM's. So, if streamers are not OK, then confetti definitely won't be! Besides, it would eventually find it's way into the lake, where it would become pollution:(

We are going to miss being there this year as well, but not the crowds in the parks. I have never seen it that busy in my life!
