Mike Piazza

He won my heart on 9/21/06.

One of the most emotional moments of Piazza's career came when he belted a dramatic two-run home run in the eighth inning against Steve Karsay on September 21, 2001 in New York City to lift the Mets to a 3-2 triumph over the Braves in the first regular season professional sporting event in New York City since the September 11 tragedy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Piazza

for ten days Shea had been a staging area for Ground Zero rescue/recoveery efforts. with one swing of the bat Piazza showed us that we could still feel joy, and that normalcy would return some day.

no matter which tema he plays for he'll always be a Met.

I'm with you-he'll always be a Met.

Newsday had a great article yesterday-about how he's very happy the Mets are doing so good this year, but sad that he's not there with them.
