NYC question? Kelly and Regis tix

Hi,

We just went to NYC last month and had a great time..we did the hop-on hop-off tour and would definitely recommend it. In fact, we're going back next month.

Just a tip in case you're interested in seeing some other Broadway shows, a lot of the theatres will sell tickets for same day performances at a deep discount.. we were able to get front-row tickets for Wicked for $25. If you show up at the box office 2 1/2 hours before each show, you can put your name in for a raffle. They raffle off 26 sets of front row seats for $25/each. My daughter's name was chosen and we got 2 seats front row and center. It was a great show! My DD is only 6 and she really enjoyed it. You can get information about the raffle on their website.

Also, we went to Chinatown to look for purses but were suprised that the deals weren't as good as we expected. We had better luck in the area behind Canal Street and also in Times Square.

Let me know if you have any questions!

That is a great tip. Wicked is one of the shows we really want to see. We already paid the $111 each for our Grease tickets because we wanted to be sure to get seats for it.
I am glad to hear that you liked the hop on hop off bus. We went ahead and got the 3 day NYC pass with the 3 day hop on hop off bus for $139 each. I know it might end up costing us more if we do not do everything we are planning on but we decided that we would rather just pay one price and then feel like we can go to everything without worrying how much each place costs. I am wondering though if you just went on the tour or did you actually use the bus to get around? I am guessing it can be a slow way to get around during traffic but for the most part, we are not in any hurry. Did you do the one day hop on hop off or did you get a multiple pass like us?

We are definitely shopping for purses so we will check the area you mention. My DS just got back from NYC and she said that there are people everywhere trying to sell you purses. What is a good deal for a purse? I usually just shop at a dept store for mine so I have no idea.

thanks so much!

Take a taxi, tell the driver to take you to Soho on canal st. you will love it, so will your 16 y/o! BTW, they sell such good knock offs, u will be quesitoning on them being the real deal, now they r not out in the open. I was stopped by a few of the dealers if i wanted to see gucci, coach, they opened a door on the wall and took me in a closet! lmao! If you want one, ask the dealers, they r safe!
have a great time, I would love to go see grease, what did you pay for tickets, if you dont mind me asking, my DD would die to go!

Thanks for the suggestion. Both my dd and I have saved up our money to splurge on purses. It sounds like just buying them will be an experience.

We paid $111 each for orchestra seats for Grease. I bought them 2 days after the show ended and the center seats for most Jul and Aug shows were already gone! We loved the TV show and that is how this whole trip started. We never really thought we would be flying all the way from Seattle just to see a Broadway show!!! We can not wait to see Max and Laura. We feel like they are our friends after rooting for them. Very crazy. I am so excited just to go on a mother daughter trip. I think we are going to have fun without my dh and 2 ds's. If they were going, we would be going to baseball games instead of shopping and drinking lattes!:rotfl:

How much do the knockoff purses cost, if you do not mind my asking? I have no idea...
