Agreed. I'm trying to think if they could have possibly announced something that I would have cared about less. Not coming up with anything so far...

It's a new media campaign: "Let the Memories Begin." It's about "sharing guest memories."

And the big "news" is...

"World of Color" at California Adventure! Other big changes at California Adventure! New Star Tours 3-D Adventure! The Disney Dream cruise ship! A resort opening in Hawaii! Adventures by Disney!

The only thing that's really new is that they're going to project photos of guests onto Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom and "it’s a small world" at Disneyland.

Just ended. Nothing anybody didn't know about. no NYC cruise. Just the theme, and talking about everything they have been working on for a while.

The only thing they revealed was that photopass photos will be projected onto the castle and somehow in/on its a small world.

They didnt say it was actually part of a show or anything! lol

With all the talk of social media and smart phones earlier on I was hoping they'd atleast announce free wifi in the parks! (wait, its disney..... ok atleast announce expensive wifi in the parks!). That seemed so obvious with the results of the market research. nevermind.

Lets hope they're finally going to give the photopass guys some photography training at least!!!

wow that has got to be disneys biggest anticlimax ever.

Each year's fall press event in New York is nothing more than the kickoff of the marketing campaign for the next fiscal year.

Each year, fans speculate about amazing and wonderful announcements, possibly involving New York in some way. Each year, they're disappointed.

The event takes place in New York because that's still the news media capital of America.

The mistake this year was that they invited fans to watch online, without setting expectations properly.

They did stream the AK announcement live last fall for DCL.

The idea of seeing random strange families projected onto the castle just does not appeal to me at all. It would be great for the family in the picture, but who else? If I'm taking pictures of the castle I don't really want Joe Blow from Small Town, USA grinning back at me from one of the walls.

You know what would be cool?
To link photopass with your resort room, so digital pictures of your family enjoying their day would be up on your wall when you got back. If there were no pictures taken, the frames could be blank or have a generic scene.
This would be a great way to personalize and make it "your" room during your stay.
