NYC-MCO early December fares

I'm seeing round-trip fares from NYC (any of the 3 main airports) to MCO in early December for somewhere in the general $219 vicinity.

The round-trip fare we paid in January 2009 was only $145, so I'm having a bit of sticker shock.

Are fares just higher now? Is early December more expensive than mid-January? Did I luck into some incredible fare sale for last January?

I know that no one can predict airfares, but I wanted to get some input from anyone who's already booked their flights or who's flown at this time of year in the recent past.

Update

The exact same flights (on JetBlue) that were $219 yesterday, are $209 today. I checked both and saw that the outbound flight has about 20 occupied seats and the inbound flight is all but empty. So I'm going to wait.

I'll update the thread if I find a significantly lower fare.

We are traveling the 2nd week of December from JFK to MCO. I purchased the tickets when they first came out several months ago and paid $79 per person each way. I think that's pretty good and don't think that it will go any lower than that - even if it does, I'll get a credit

That's the kind of fare I'm hoping for, and since the planes are virtually empty, I'll continue to hope for a while! Thanks for posting.
