We have just booked the Lowe's Regency in NYC for my DD 21st birthday. We are very excited and plan two days of exploring in NYC! We go to the city often but never stay. To stay in the city was my DD's request! Going just before the Christmas holidays so we will see all the decorations.

We are doing the same! Dec 16-19! My 40th birthday! not a great way to use points, but for us it was a great way to celebrate my 40th in a fantastic city at Christmas! Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Same to you! Go see some shows if you can!!!! As I said, we go to NYC often so DD decided to stay and really enjoy the NY life. It will be very crowded because of the holidays, but the best time to see NY!

I love NYC!!! I was born/raised there, but moved "upstate" LOL ... we also go back whenever we can. Hope you have a great time...Christmas in the city is magical. If you are a great Disney fan, see Lion King...it's really terrific.

Please post a review of the hotel, I also want to check it out soon, and an honest review from a fellow dvc member will certainly be helpfull

Thanks and have fun!:thumbsup2

We took a suite there, on points, a few years ago for a wedding. I recommend that you sign up for their hospitality club before arriving. They will not give you club credits for your stay, as it came in as a trade through a time-share, but they will give you extra courtesies like milk and cookies in the evening. We found the LR quiet, small, and very classy. It won't bowl you over if you're used to gaudy hotels. But it offers real quality and the kind of customer service that wealthier people expect.

Just two questions: how far in advance did you request? And were your dates flexible in the request? Thanks!

We booked about 10-11 months in advance. We arrive on a Sunday and leave on a Wednesday and did not have to be flexible at all. Had no problem and was a very easy process.

We are going December 22-23! Holiday time in NYC! I was very pleased to see we could get those dates! My daughter's birthday is the 23rd so it was important to her to turn 21 and be in the city. We were not flexible in our choice of dates. We also had a lot of points banked and wanted to use them. I will post a report about the adventure later.
