Think I posted this on the wrong forum - here it is again :)

Hi all,

I am meeting my sister and my two nieces (9 and 12) in NYC for a weekend in February. I looked at the DVC option (Shelburne?) and it didn't seem appealing or cost-efffective (did they change the NYC option - I thought it was a different hotel a few years ago?) ...anyway, it looked a little too business-like for our trip. Does anyone have suggestions for a great place to stay - we'll be doing a Broadway show etc. I'm hoping to keep it to about $250/night - or any suggestions for where to find good winter deals?

Thanks :)

This is where we've stayed in the past.

It's right off Times Square. Very convenient to the theater district. We have a reservation for the day after Christmas, and tickets to the Little Mermaid. There's also a terrific Italian restaurant next door.

A lot of the major chains do winter specials in NYC, so keep checking with Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton, etc. And while you're here, don't forget to check out the World of Disney store at 55th & 5th Avenue... It's owned/operated by Disney, unlike the Disney Stores in the malls that are operated by Children's Place. They carry a lot of the same merchandise you'll find at the WDW shops! I go there to get my Disney fix between visits to WDW.

Have a great visit!

Last March, we stayed at the Hampton Inn which is located at 8th Ave and 51st St. It was a great location.
