Do you remember where you read this? I'm really curious!:goodvibes

I originally read it on another forum from a well known poster. It was copied and posted in this thread

Taken from another forum.......

Remember these are RUMORS and have not been confirmed with a second source as of yet.

1) With the exception of Cruise sales, all DVC sales units have missed their goals for the year. Jim Lewis is very unhappy. Many Guides believe the problem was caused by Jim Lewis' choice of Steve Harvey (I don't know this person by name) as the lead advertising focus of last year. Apparently his demographics cannot affort the DVC, despite stong interest, and many have been declined for Disney financing (almost unheard of!). And guess what? supposedly, they just renewed their 'contract' with Mr. Harvey for next year!

2) NYC sales center is gonna happen soon, and may be in Northern New Jersey versus NYC proper. The IL and NY centers have been getting the best sales incentives even though it costs much more to sell at those locations than via the telephone sales-guide system. Some animosity is developing between these sales branches.

3) A bigwig on the BLT steering committee has a serious health problem that has required long hospitalizations and has thrown all schedules out the door. Guides who were told not to vacation in June and July, are again being told to vacation immediatly or not at all.

4) So, with disappointing 2007 FY sales, October 1st (Disney's next FY) is looking out to be the sales date (back to our original prediction nearly a half a year ago....... BUT many senior agents expect sales to begin on the Member's Cruise this September. DC just doesn't know. Also, BLT has *NOT* been declared part of DVC internally yet, despite the take out restaurant reported in the Sentinal.

5) Now the bad news....... Price per point *RUMORED* originally to have been $180 per point. That is not a typo. Management feels they could have sold out at that level last year (before the credit/mortgage crunch) became known. DC feels the delay in starting sales may even extend to the election. He expects points to go for $140.00pp PLUS. I hope he is wrong!

6) This is a direct Jim Lewis quote, "...Get ready because sales will be announced one week before sales start, and DVC Owners will have only one week to purchase before BLT is offered to the general public..." Now that seems to be a confirmation of BLTs DVC status to me, but hey I wasn't at this meeting.

7) Project Crystal is the current 'code' name for DVC at the contemporary.

Thanks for posting! I'll keep my fingers crossed!:goodvibes

This is where I first saw the rumor also. What bothered me about it was "NY centers have been getting the best sales incentives", since there is no NY center at the present time. I have to say that I would much rather see something on Long Island or in NYC because it is extremely expensive for us to get to NJ with all the tolls. Maybe once Disney decides what they are going to do about replacing the WOD store on 5th Ave, a DVC sales office might hopefully get incorporated into the new NYC Flagship Store location.

we read in either the news or the post this weekend that the WOD store would move down to the Time Square area so maybe they will put a DVC office there too. The area gets a huge amount of traffic

Received email today from DVC announcing "Disney Vacation Club Dream Jobs" scheduled to open this summer in Roosevelt Field, Garden City, NY. It will feature a 2BR full sized model vacation villa, variety of interactive multi-media experiences, and most important, friendly & knowledgeable Cast Members ( maybe me). Anyone interested in apply go to "DisneyCareers.com" and use keywood "DDDLongIsland" and apply. I was thrilled but I'm sure I was the one of the many thousands they sent this email to. Good luck to all, and will let you know if I get

Good luck to all of you who live close enough to Roosevelt Field!!! I am too far away, so won't be applying.

Ugh, I got the email too. But I'm so far from Roosevelt Field it's not even funny. But I can't wait to go visit it.

I'm far away too! Orange county NY, but I would stay take a drive to go see it!LOL I can't wait to hear more info!!

I received the email today :cool1: I only live about 25 minutes away from the mall. I think I am going to apply hey you never know!!

i got the same email...so finally maybe i will get the urge to add on !!!

I got the email...and I applied!!!

I only live about 10-15 minutes away from Roosevelt Field. I am there like every other day. :rotfl:

I knew about this exact location a few months ago. My guide told me about it when I purchased in November. It was all hush hush back then.

I hope I at least get called for an interview! :thumbsup2

I'm 15 minutes from the Mall! Can't wait for the Doorway to Dreams!
Don't exactly know why that is though, since we already own at two resorts and don't plan on adding on......:confused3
Oh well, still SO EXCITING:thumbsup2

My thought is if you need that "Disney DVC FIX" go to the mall :rotfl:
actually I think that sounds kind of cool

What is it ? Just a sales office to buy into DVC? What's the point of going there if we already own it ? :confused3
