NY Giants.....

Well, unless New Jersey state has a city named New Jersey, it would be named after a city. Without looking up a map, i dont know any cities in New Jersey... :P

Which city goes the stadium resides in NJ side...?

why would it be named after a city? i have never been to the city of New England.. lol :lmao:

we live in the ny metro area (at least north jersey where the stadium is in the ny metro area..lol) it doesn"t really bother me anymore...

ETA: Guess I should have read all posts before posting...hahaha

Upstate NY we refer to them as the New Jersey Giants. There is only one NY team, the Buffalo Bills.

Having said that, I've been a Patriots fan for 30+ years.

Java, I know exactly how you feel. Enough is enough. It's not like they're playing here temporarily. When other NFL teams change cities they also change their name. They should be known as the NJ Giants and the NJ Jets.

...I think we should sic the Terror Turkeys on 'em....popcorn::

What city are the Patriots, Vikings and Cardinals named after?

The Stadium is in East Rutherford.

Eh..upstate NY can cheer for the Pats...that is only against the law in Western New York...home of the Bills.

It's tough to be a fan of the only NY team when they aren't doing all that well.:sad1: Right now we are just hoping that we continue to stay the only NY team in the NFL and they don't pack us up and move us to a foreign country. (Canada)

Really why are they the NY Giants? Shouldn't it be the NJ Giants? They play here. They pay taxes here. Most of the players live here. So why are they the NY Giants?

We are cheering on the Giants wherever they are from but it's something that was brought up on a sports show I was listening to and made me go hmmmm.
GO GIANTS!!

My cousin did a great job explaining to some people why they are the New York Giants this past week and I have been telling others what he said all week. They are the New York Giants, not the New York State Giants, just the New York Giants, so you can say that New York means New York City. They play in the New York City metroplitan area. For me, this sums it up. They are a New York City team and they play in the New York City area. Also, history plays a role in it too. The Giants have actually played in New York and that is why they were originally named the New York Giants. It is not like they moved hundreds of miles away from New York where a name change would have to occur. They still play in the New York City area so why would the name have had to be changed.

A few NFL teams are in the same boat as the Giants and the Jets. The Dallas Cowboys play in Arlington, Texas, the Washington Redkins play in Landover, Maryland, the Buffalo Bills play in Orchard Park...but all of these teams are named after the metropolitan areas they play in just like the Giants and Jets are.

The Buffalo Bills may be the only team to play in New York State but they technically don't play in Buffalo.....:rolleyes1

Oh you poor disillusioned 'upstaters'! (Although I do like the Bills as well... just not as much the Giants!)

I guess it's a Jersey thing. ;)

There is no exit 16W on the Parkway. Only on the Turnpike. I don't believe any exits on the Garden State Parkway have letters as part of the exit other than "A" or "B". NJ Turnpike has "A", "B", "C" (turnpike extension running toward NYC and "W" and "E" for western or eastern spurs, and we also have an "X" which I have no idea what that stands for. :rotfl: I know, way too much information.

I do actually know this. Therefore the smilie. I guess my joke didn't go over too well.
