NY Giants.....

Really why are they the NY Giants? Shouldn't it be the NJ Giants? They play here. They pay taxes here. Most of the players live here. So why are they the NY Giants?

We are cheering on the Giants wherever they are from but it's something that was brought up on a sports show I was listening to and made me go hmmmm.

Anahiem Angels... they are now the Los Angeles Angels. They are in Orange County, but no one knows where that is.

NY is a bigger media market for money. They came for NY as well.

By keeping the NY name, and playing in NJ, they get fans from both sides of the river

Well, unless New Jersey state has a city named New Jersey, it would be named after a city. Without looking up a map, i dont know any cities in New Jersey...

I don't think naming them the NJ Giants/Jets would be a problem since the Giants are playing the New England Patriots and last time I checked New England wasn't a city. And FWIW, there is also the Texas Rangers who play baseball. Texas also isn't a city. Maybe I should have been clearer in my original OP.
