NY Flight Watch - Aug 2014

Hi all, I don't normally post in this forum but I'm going nuts!! From all the threads, I know others are feeling the flight fee pain as I am. I've checked a million combos and am unpleasantly surprised. For the dates and times I want (going last week of Aug into Labor Day), avg price is $400pp! I swear I went this same week last year and paid $250pp. Playing around with the times and locations:
Desired dates/times: $400pp from JFK or LGA
Best price: $288 out of Atlantic City (~3hr drive) and I'm not happy with the return flight time (9:25am after a late EMH night at Magic Kingdom).

I've looked into Philadelphia airport too and even the autotrain out of VA. Does anyone have any other ideas? Or want to join in on the thread to vent?

Have you tried pricing JetBlue out of Newark?

Depending on how flexible you are, you may be able to get under $300. But if you are planning on traveling on a high demand day, all the airlines may figure they have over a barrel on pricing. GL

I sometimes fly out of Islip on southwest. I am also flying in Aug and bit the bullet and just booked. I am flying out of Westchester on Jetblue and paid $400 per ticket.
