NY Event Incentives

It was $92/point with the incentive for a 160 pt contract. We ended up doing a 200 pt contract and got it for $90/point. It was $22 off and we also got the 2 broadway tickets. :thumbsup2

So $92 per point for AKL or SSR and $100 per point for BLK....did this include a member referral incentive?

I attended the Member event at the Garden City Hotel last evening.

They confirmed that prices would be going up from the current $112 to $120 per point. Incentives for current members adding on were as follows.

BLT: $12 per point credit for adding on 100 -124 points
$13 per point credit for adding on 125 -159 points
$14 per point credit for adding on 160 -199 points
$16 per point credit for adding on 200 or more points

SSR & AKV: $20 per point credit for adding on 100 -124 points
$21 per point credit for adding on 125 -159 points
$22 per point credit for adding on 160 -199 points
$24 per point credit for adding on 200 or more points

GCV: $23 per point credit for adding on 100 -124 points
$24 per point credit for adding on 125 -159 points
$25 per point credit for adding on 160 -199 points
$27 per point credit for adding on 200 or more points

Having added on to GCV earlier this year I can't take advantage of these offers unfortunately but I wish I could have gotten this deal.

I forgot when I was posting early this morning thst they were also thowing in Broadway tickets to Lion King and/or Mary Poppins. 2 tickets for purchasing 125 - 159 points or 4 tickets for purchasing 160 or more points. I didn't ask if the ticket promotion extended to the properties other than BLT because I totally forgot about it when I spoke with my guide.

One of the guides I spoke with was not sure that the cost would be going up at all 4 properties or if it would just be BLT. During the presentation they stated that the price per point was definitely increasing soon but the examples they gave were all for BLT.

I met with my guide to find out the details on the incentives for each property. My guide said that the higher incentives for GCV are because they want to get the property sold out quickly and that sales are going well.

I would advise anyone attending this weekend and planning to add on to seriously consider which property you prefer and would use the most before choosing due to the huge differences in the incentives for each property. I agree with those who say you should buy where you plan to stay. Since I have no interest in BLT the choice would be easier for me if I were buying because the only factor would be whether I wanted to add more points at WDW or DL.

Current dues for BLT are $3.67 per point and for GCV they are $3.82 per point. I don't know what they are for SSR or AKV but they indicated that most were around $5 per point.

They announced that the official ribbon cutting date for the Doorway to Dreams store is October 17.
My guide said the opening dates are 10/16-10/18.

OK so if I buy200 points at BLT it will cost me $96 per points and they are throwing in 4 broadway tickets.....correct?

Can anyone verify if this goes for us new members or not?

And can anyone verify if they are giving you the full 2009 points? I would get an August UY.

Thanks.

When we went yesterday it was slightly different. It was $14 off per point at BLT for 200 points and you only got 2 broadway tickets if you purchased 200 points. I believe you would get 2009 points, they were advertising a Feb UY but were giving the 09 points so I'm sure you would get it for an Aug UY. We were at the new member session and those were the incentives.

Hi Everyone.....

Just a quick question......I am a member and live on Long Island but did not receive an invite to the meeting. Was it only for a select area? Should I call my giude to ask why I never recieved anything? My parents are also members and they did not get anything either. Just wondering......

Also, we just got off the Magic and these are pretty much the same incentives as booking on board but without the broadway tickets....the guides onboard said that these incentives were only being offered for one more sailing then as far as they know Disney will be cutting back on incentives because sales have been so good.....needless to say we added on 100 pts to Grand Cali....Couldn't beat the "sale" they were having in the points.

I just got back from the 1 pm show, which was for non-owners. Here are the incentives they offered us, after telling us that the points are $112, and will go up to $120 in October. Also note that they did not mention different amounts for different properties:
160-199 points- $12
200-269 points- $14 + 2 free tickets to Disney Broadway shows
270-319 points- $16
320 points and more- $16 plus 4 free tickets
Also they are giving the '09 points and "only" charging 4 months MF
Closing will be $350, as they are "splitting" the cost.
They didn't really go into which properties were available, although they used BLT as the example. And of course they emphasised such poor use of points as Cruises and Adventures.
Didn't strike me as too great a deal; I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong.

It's not a bad deal for BLT, but it's only a tiny bit better than the owner referral incentives that just ended for BLT. (For other than BLT, this is not a very good deal.) For 160-199 points, you save an extra $1 per point over the recent incentives. For 200-269 points, you save an extra $1 per point, plus get the two free tickets. For 270 points or more, you save $3 per point, plus get the tickets if you buy more than 320 points.

So, I guess if you were planning to buy 270 points, you save about $800 over what was recently being offered. Now, if it was stackable with the $500 rewards for disney visa, then that would start to be a bit better; otherwise, it's a pretty negligible savings over what was just offered.

Closing has pretty much always been $350 if you finance, so that's no better. When they say they are "splitting" it, what they mean is that they pick up the owners' portion of the title policy, which is not a huge deal and which they've been offering anyway. They also have been giving everyone the 2009 points, so I don't think this is that much better than the recent incentives. That said, the incentives are over, so this is certainly a better deal than what is currently available.

I don't believe the VGC line for a second. There's no way they are selling it for less than $90 per point if it is selling well.

Some members within reasonable drive got invititations via email and mostly it targeted prospective purchasers . Tomorrow (Monday) iirc is last day any sessions are scheduled although I did hear that they may perhaps try to schedule more in next couple weeks if time & logistics can be worked out because there was strong interest & many who did not get to attend these sessions these past few days - - so you may want to give your guide a call & ask to receive invitation if they do plan more.

:)

Do they have your email address? Could it have gone into your spam folder. I live in Queens and received the invite by email and then about 10000 confirmations :confused3 for registering. I don't know why you didn't recieve it as a people in NJ, CT and I think even MD receieved it.

I don't know how attendance was at the other shows, but the one I was at today was at the most 2/3 filled. The left hand set of seats were completely empty, the right side had a few people, and the middle was almost completely filled.

True and it's also significantly better than the $120 base price they're raising BLT pricing to on Oct. 4th. :scared1:

I think we were at the same session. I was there yesterday at 1pm and this sounds exactly like what our session looked like. My husband wound up taking our daughter downstairs to the party area about 5 mins in. He said it was nice because there was no one in there except another small child and they were both running around and they could watch the presentation from the viewing room. I thought it was nice they had another area for the children who weren't 3 or over to go with their parents and you could still watch the presentation.

I am happy to say we are now proud new owners at AKV!!! We were very excited!!!!! I only drove out there from NJ yesterday because I didn't want to miss the incentives and to verify they were definitely increasing the price to $120a point. When my husband had heard that he was like we're definitely going to find out what they're offering cause we didn't want to buy in later at $120. Yes we know about resale, but we figured out it wasn't right for us.

Now I can't wait to plan our 1st vacation home!!!!

we added on for the exact same reason we didn't want to buy at a higher price and we knew we were going to add on eventually it just came earlier than we thought but it is okay for us.

We now own at AKV and BLT so we are planning on twice a year.
