I know there are a lot of DVC members from NY. Maybe someone can help me out.

Where is the real Saratoga Springs and where is it in relation to the Catskills (sp?)?

Are the above two areas part of the same region?

Just wondering, I was reading the member e-mail about the resort and I saw that they mentioned the Catskills.

Thanks in advance.

Saratoga Springs is north of Albany, at the southern end of the Adirondack Mountains. The Catskill Mountains are south of Albany.

The spring issue of Vacation Magic has an interesting article about the history of the real Saratoga Springs. There is a map on that page, too, in the background.

This link should bring up a map and a site with tourist info. On this map it is referred to as the Saratoga-Capital Region. It is a completely seperate area than the Catskills.

Saratoga is known for its mineral water springs and for the horse race track. "High society" comes for the races every summer.

Here's a site about the "real" Saratoga, too.

My question all along has been......where will the racetrack be located? ;) ;) :) It ain't Saratoga without horses.
