Has anyone used the ny city pass? There are two different sites - 1 you get access to about 12 places for about $65 , the other is about $135 & you get access to over 80 places - we bought the 3 day pass.

I'm a bit confused on how to use it, I have booked some tours but not sure what do with empire states, top of rock & 9/11 memorial - I have read that u need to book for 9/11 memorial but on city pass website it says you don't have book u can skip the lines with the city pass & Empire State. Anyone have any idea.

I've bought the New York Pass for our trip. I haven't used it yet but there is lots of threads on Trip Advisor about them. Just skip through the ones that tell you not to buy them!! I wanted everything prepaid for our trip so this pass suits me :)

From what I understand you just present the card at the ticket booths and they scan it and let you in. I haven't looked too closely though as we don't go for 5 more months.

I used it on my trip in May. So convenient!

9/11 is free - but you need to book (I think for security) booking cost was $2
We didn't go to 9/11 as we were there when the new museum was being opened and it was all booked up months ahead

Yes that's why I bought it & because we are only going to be there for 4 days

Thanks will have a look at the website :)

We were only in NY for 3 full days
Used the Ny pass and it was great!
Went to
Empire State Building (go 1st thing in the morning to avoid the long security queue)
Top of The Rock
Radio City Music Hall tour
MoMa
Intrepid air & Space museum (paid extra to go to the space shuttle exhibit)
Sunset cruise
Madame Tussaud's
tour of the Rockefeller Center
**Walking tour of Broadway
**Walking tour of Central Park movie sites
**the walking tours must be booked in advance
I also had the hop on hop off buss option - with such a short trip, I didn't use this fully, I bought a $30 weekly subway ticket and used this on the buses and subway (both are really easy to use)
