I just (6:19-6:20 AM) heard on local news that Northwest Flight Attendants will begin sporadic, unannounced strikes starting at 9 PM today!

Now, that gives them all day to bargain, but potential passengers should be aware.

Yep, should be interesting flying back from MCO next Sat!

herc.

Actually, they can strike beginning at 10:01 p.m. (EDT) tonight.

NW is in court today trying to get the judge to block a strike.

Stay tuned...

I hope all goes well and they can find a happy medium. We are to fly out on Monday. It's a wait and see thing.

BTW,

I flew to Pensacola this past monday...flight attendants (2 connections) on all 3 planes were not too friendly. All pretty somber.

herc.

I kinda figure that they would not be too happy so I am expecting "not so friendly" service. Thanks for the heads up from your past experience.

The Detroit Free Press just had a very brief notice that the judge blocked the strike.

I read the same thing on the internet and posted this on the other thread. However it did state, the flight attendants are threatening what is called a CHAOS strike. It is not a traditional strike with the idea of shutting down an airline. Instead, they will target particular flights or kinds of aircraft with walkouts that will most hurt the airline.

Not that this is means of solving anything, hopfully it will put a few of us using NWA at ease. Hopfully for all of us travelers we will get there without any delays. It's hard not only do you have to worry about terror plots, you have to worry if your getting to point A and then back again. Crazy world we live in, but it's the way it is.

I'm supposed to fly out this coming Friday. Lovely to hear that I'm going to be stuck on a plane with a bunch of rude flight attendants. But, hopefully, at least, I'll get to travel without an interruption.

Please let us know if you hear anything else. I can only find the temporary restraint news brief, but nothing else.

At least a temporary reprieve for NW travelors....

This afternoon a Federal Court Judge issued a temporary injunction barring the NW FA's from striking tonite.... no word yet on how long the injunction will last (expect that info will be available later today). This should push both sides back to the bargaining table....
