NWA seat assignment

Hello,

When our TA booked our flights with NWA, she couldn't pick our seats. It was a few months back though. Does anyone know how far in advance we can pick them? I was wondering if it was around 90 days or so, so I am not sure if I should just contact my TA or NWA about this.

It is 90 days, we always book on NWA and I just go to the web site and put in my confirmation number and that will let me check what seats we got. By going on line and checking it gives you the option to change your seat if you are not satisfied with them.

I have changed seats online that my company travel dept originally assigned. One thing about Northwest that I've noticed, they reserve practically the whole front half of the plane for their preferred frequent flyers. There were times where I could not get a seat assignment until the 24 hour online check-in and they opened up some of those seats.

I currently have reservations for May. The web site tells me I can only choose my seats within 90 days of my departure. I am currently assigned a seat way in the back. Now, since it is on Delta (NWA miles), I found the Delta confirmation number in the NWA confimation, went to delta.com and was able to choose my seats. Circumvented the system, but it worked and hopefully stays.

Now, if I could only get into Continental to choose seats for my return flight! lol

Duds: flights on Delta metal can assign seats as soon as they are booked, even if you have a Northwest-numbered ticket. NWA metal doesn't assign seats until 90 days (and usually, they don't change afterwards, though they can sometimes).

The NWA web site doesn't handle Delta seating rules, and (worse) the NWA agents don't seem to be able to make seat requests "stick", so if you have a NWA flight on Delta metal, it's best to call Delta directly.

Thanks for the info. I will call my TA at the 90 days and ask her to see what seats we have, as long as we are together it doesn't matter where we sit.
