North west has never been a problem for me until this trip. Some of you might remember that I had orginally booked a direct flight from Grand Rapids MI to Orlando. Well that was changed to a stop over in Detroit. That flight time was then changed. Then the changed it again. I had enough of changes and called NWA yesterday!

I spoke with a very nice gentelman and explained that I had reservations at WDW that I couldn't change (not really but I only could get the breathless one night and don't want to miss it). He was so awesome. He got me on the earliest flight out of Grand Rapids to Minniapplios (sp) We are now getting to WDW at 2:30 as apposed to 6pm. I am so excited!!! I didn't get charged for anything and he hinted that the flight was nearly booked in coach so I could get upgraded to first class at the podium!!! (I am not planning on this but it woiuld be a nice bonus!

I am just so happy to be going to WDW in 8 days!! I'm no longer concerned about all of the flight delimmas that I have had!

Glad it all worked out for you. We ususally fly out of Detroit but this December DD and friends are flying out of Flint for the first time. Flint is only a little north of us but DD will only fly non stop, once she's in the air she doesn't want to land and take off again. Flint only offer's one non stop flight with northwest and she's hoping that it won't change to a stopover. They will have a total of 5 adults and 4 babies under 18 months and no one wants to have to change planes. Have you thought about driving in to bishop the night before and taking their early morning non stop flight to mco. Susan

Glad this worked out for you.

I took the nonstop from Orlando back to Grand Rapids this past Monday (which was wonderful, btw-- I may be the only person who likes Northwest), and the flight attendant mentioned to me that NW decided to make their GRR-MCO and GRR-TPA routes seasonal. Now, I have no idea why April would be seasonal and not May when you are travelling, but now that I am looking for airfare for my January trip, both nonstops are coming up.

So, although you had your flights changed this trip, perhaps they will have fully reinstated by your NEXT trip :teeth:

Have a wonderful trip!

NWA is my favorite airline also. I love those free first class upgrades on NWA, Delta, and Continental with my world perks card.

We are also taking the short trip to Flint for our Disney trip in June. It saved us about $60 per person and we got nonstop on the way to orlando! Man Northwest Rocks!! :cool1: :cool1:

looks like we will be on the same flight with you :wave2:
We leave GR at 10:30 to Detroit then Orlando...
We are going on our son's Make A Wish trip. I hope they will upgrade us
to First class..
See on next Friday :bounce:

PLEASE tell me the NS in January from GRR won't change!!! I'm a west-sider and am so excited about it. I've never been able to have a NS before! It'd be nice not to sit in airports forvever before running the marathon on Sunday!

FYI - I hear Lansing tends to have pretty good prices too (sometimes better than Flint).

j-me - Hope you had a WONDERFUL trip, neighbor! I'm on the other side of the river from you.

Lansing's has some competitive prices compared to DTW, but you end up having to connect in DTW anyways! I hope they start a ns from LAN, but its hard to compete with Allegent Air for $59 each way!

Is this common?
The major airlines change schedules four or five times per year, at the same specific times each year.

I just noticed our flight (june 13) with AA was changed (not sure when- we booked this in Feb though). Our departure time went from 7:21pm to 6:44pm.. that's really cutting it close for us since we have to wait for DH to get home from work then drive us (over an hour's drive to DFW from where we live... and ofcourse that's rush hour traffic time also...) to the airport!

arghhhhhhh

Wow! I've been seeing the ALlegient billboards, but keep forgettign to check them out! Thanks for the reminder!
