Today we're going back to MGM and they got up on their own without my help. Remember, I'm just along for the ride now. We get to MGM about 9 and we want to get a fastpass for Lghts, Motors, Action. As we're walking there, we notice the park is really empty. I guess everyone was at MK for Regis & Kelly again or at the EMH park. We get our fastpass, and I'm a little worried because it says to come back at 12:35, but we have a PS at Primetime for 11:30, hopefully we'll make it, but I'm not going to rush anyone. We walk to One Man's Dream and on the way, Babe spots a pincart and him and Loudboy run to it and start jumping up and down. They found a Mickey Cutie, this is what Loudboy's been hunting for days for. All the CMs told us they were sold out, since they're so popular. I don't know who was more excited, Loudboy or Babe. We go to One Man's Dream and there's only 3 other people there, then we go to the Magic of Disney Animation. We get to meet Mrs. Incredible and she stamps Loudboy's book. While we were playing on the computers, Mr. Incredible comes out, but the kids don't want to wait in line again, so I just snap his picture with some random kid. We wanted to do Millionaire, but it wasn't time, so we figured let's see if they can get us in our PS early.
We got to 50's Primetime and they sat us in Dad's Den. Babe was so comfortable there, (maybe because it looks just like the house he grew up in) and he even put his feet up on the coffee table. After about 3 minutes, Aunt Sue came and got us. She sat us at a formica table with a TV showing the Mousketeers. She told us what "Mama" was cooking in the kitchen and then brought us our drinks. We ordered cherry sprites, except Loudboy, he ordered a chocolate milkshake. Aunt Sue came back and I ordered the fried chicken and shamefully asked (with my head down) if I could substitute my green beans. She put her hands on her hips and said, "Mama's not gonna like that, but I'll ask her." Babe did the same and got double mashed potatoes. We shared our chicken with Loudboy. Sci-fi had the hot dog kid's meal. The food was soooo good! Babe excused himself to the restroom and Aunt Sue came to get our empty plates. She asked if everything was good and I noticed her scraping the plate with a fork. While I was talking to the kids, she said,"Here comes the airplane, open wide!" and when I looked at her, the crazy shoved a spoonful of my potatoes in my mouth. The kids thought it was hysterical! "Dad should have been here!" they said.
After stuffing ourselves, we headed over to L, M, A. The fastpass line was so long, but it moved pretty fast. We got in and were moving only an inch a minute thanks to all the people that wouldn's scoot over. The CMs were yelling at everyone to please scoot over, but people just won't budge. We finally get a seat with 15 minutes to start and the boys need to go to the bathroom. Poor Babe, but hey, he wanted boys, so he's gotta go with them. I'm sitting there and the CM starts going up the aisles yelling, "Scoot over!" Please don't let him come to me, please don't let him come to me. Here he comes! "M'am, please scoot over! We have to fit everyone in!" he says. "I can't, these seats are taken!" I yell back. He can't hear me. "Scoot over!" I stand up and yell, "These seats are for my family! They all went to the bathroom!" I can just die now. Here they come, thank God!
The show starts and it's fantastic. Babe just loved it! It had fast cars, motorcycles, stuntmen, fires, vroom-vroom and boom!-boom!, you know, everything that a guy likes.
From there we went back to Millionaire and played. A 12 year old boy got in the hotseat, and won a hat with pins. After that a woman got in, but lost. It was really fun to play and a nice place to cool off.
After that they just wanted to do some shopping, so we went to Tatooine Traders and Sci-fi picked out a $50 Anakin that changes into Darth Vader. Babe says, "It's $50." "I know," I say, "but it's his money and he hasn't bought hardly anything." Babe looks at me like I'm crazy. In the real world, I would not be okay with a $50 toy, but this isn't the real world, it's DisneyWorld and c'est la vie! He gets the toy and Loudboy buys a Darth Tater, since he has all those potato parts with no potato to stick them into. Babe says, "Hey, you bought a Spud Vader!" We all laugh, because Babe is ALWAYS calling things by the wrong name. We decide it's Sweets time and we find an Ice cream cart near Indiana Jones and sit down to munch and get out of the hot sun.
After a while, we notice the benches getting filled up waiting for the Stars and Cars parade. We find us a nice, hot bench and begin the burning. Luckily, Babe is wearing his handy dandy mister and is misting the kids. While waiting with nothing to do, we start noticing the foot traffic passing by. Babe and I start giving each other looks whenever we see big kids going by in strollers. There were so many! Some were as big as Loudboy! We couldn't believe our eyes! We started counting, but lost count around 25.
Time for the parade, once again we had a great spot! The characters kept coming up to my camera and posing for me. Can you believe it, for me! They shook the boys hands and gave them hi-5s. They were so excited!
Once the parade was over, they wanted to go back to Downtown Disney. So we headed back to Pop and had dinner, then we filled up our mugs with Slurpee and headed out.
We went straight to the Lego Store and Sci-fi bought some Legos and then we went looking for some running pants for Babe. He wanted a pair to wear in the plane on the way home, but we couldn't find any. Team Mickey had some sweats, but if Babe gets off the plane in Texas in sweats, he'll either faint or be arrested for stupidity.
After shopping we went for a late night swim and then watched TV in our room while the kids played with their new toys. Right before bed, Loudboy comes up to me with a note, this is what it said:
Dear Mom & Dad,
Thank you for everything you've done and will do in my life. Thank you Mom for planning our trip to Disney World. Thank you Dad for looking for those pins. We love you both the same way. Thank you!
From Loudboy & Sci-Fi Guy
I still get weepy-eyed when I read it.
