Well after the fiasco yesterday, I learned my lesson. Forget about my plans, leave the index cards behind. I'm letting them decide and I'm gonna go with the flow. It's not about how much you can do in one day, it's how much fun you can have doing it. Well, they got up on their own and got ready. They wanted to go to a park. I gave them a choice: Do we go back to Epcot and finish or do y'all want to go to Magic Kingdom. They chose MK since we didn't do it all on the first day. We hopped on our bus and when we got to MK it was packed and more people were coming. "Why is it so crowded?" Babe asked. I casually said, "Oh, Regis & Kelly are here today." The look on his face was priceless! We went into the train station and up the stairs and it was full of people and cameramen. I got some close-up shots of R & K using my zoom lens and then I said "Let's go!" While the whole park is watching them we can ride some rides! We hopped on the train and got off near Toontown, but it wasn't open yet so we walked to Tomorrowland. We rode Space Mountain again and Sci-fi even liked it. I sat in front and could make out shapes of the structure, so I kept ducking thinking my head was going to hit something. Next we got a fastpass for Buzz and went to Stitch. Now I heard this ride stunk, but I didn't know that it literally STUNK! I gagged when Stitch burped and tried to escape my holding device and then it happened again! It was disgusting! As soon as it ended, Loudboy said, "I never want to ride that again!" This coming from a boy that spends 1/3 of the day talking about bodily functions. Now it was time for Buzz. I rode with Sci-fi and controlled the spinning. I had us going round and round and round. Sorry, Sci-fi. Babe had the highest score and gloated for the next hour about it. After that Babe and Loudboy had to search every store and cart for those pins! Babe is so into it and doesn't even have a lanyard! "I'm helping Loudboy." so he says. Every CM we run into, his eyes go straight to their chest. We go into a store and he disappears. "Where were you?" I ask. "I was looking at all the CMs pins." Okay...We went to ride the Indy Speedway and Sci-fi was a little worried about driving alone. I told them they were on a track and then he was okay. They were so hard to control, I thought it was just me but Babe said he had a hard time too.
Toontown was open now, so we headed over there. But first we stopped at a pincart near the entrance. Babe said, "I found one!" It was a Cutie Piglet pin. I don't know who was more excited, Babe or Loudboy. We bought it, of course then headed to Minnie's house. Her house was so cute, we played with everything. After that we went to Mickey's house and when Loudboy leaned over into Mickey's living room an alarm went off. "I was just trying to see what was on his TV." he said. "Maybe they were showing Shark's Tale" I said and he laughed. (Must read Episode 2 to understand this joke) Next we headed to Goofy's Barnstormer and immediately Sci-fi got into nervous mode. We rode it and afterwards he said he liked it. That's a pretty good coaster for a kiddy ride.
Next, we headed to Fantasyland. It was empty, there were like 30 people there. I guess they were all still watching Regis & Kelly. We rode Pooh's ride and it was so cute. Even the boys liked it, and they didn't want to ride it at first. Now, to Peter Pan's flight. I was so hyped about this, I rode it when I was three. But it was so fast, I hardly got a chance to see anything. I guess that's why it called "Flight", I wanted a stroll. Of course we had to check out all the shops in the area and Loudboy found a Tigger Cutie pin. He was so thrilled!
By now everyone was hungry, so we went to Columbia Harbour House and the fish and chicken was so good. It was a nice place to cool off too. We sat upstairs and there were 4 other people there.
After that we just strolled around and did some souvenir shopping. When we felt it was safe, we rode Big Thunder again. Sci-fi liked it too. Babe wanted to ride Splash Mountain, but the kids wouldn't give in. We walked on to the Tiki Room. Loudboy has Tikiphobia, so this wasn't a very good idea. Before our trip, he asked me, "Do you think there'll be tikis in the Tiki Room?" "Ya think?" I said. He watched the birds and Iago and Zazu, then he closed his eyes and stuck his fingers in his ears. During the show, Babe says "They're all gone." Loudboy looks at one right in the eye and cowers into Babe's arm. Babe was laughing. Bad Babe! I was sad that they hardly sang the tiki song. I don't like the new changes.
Well, now we were all ready for something sweet, so funnel cakes it was. Except for Loudboy, he got a scoop of plain vanilla. He's so picky! We sat and relaxed eating funnel cakes with strawberry topping and whipped cream. Sorry, I just drooled on the keyboard. There was not a dot of powdered sugar left on those plates.
Well, it was about time to get a spot for the afternoon parade. This time I used the force: my DISboard knowledge. We got a spot in Frontierland near the arcade. We sat there baking for 45 minutes, but we were sitting right at the rope on the street. It was well worth the wait. We had managed to sit right in front of the tape markers the CMs had put on the street which signaled the characters to stop. Many of the characters gave us high-fives or danced in front of us. It was great until I saw Jafar. He's so freaky-looking. He was staring at me and hypnotized me and then pointed his long rubbery finger at Sci-fi like "I'm going to get him." I quickly covered my precious son to protect him from this lanky demon. He rode away in his car and I quickly put my focus on more cheerful characters. I got a great shot of Pluto right over me and it looks like he's about to take a bite out of me. When some dancers were in front of us, Loudboy asks," Are they the ugly stepsisters?" "SHHH." I say "Well, they don't look so ugly." He says. Then one of them did a spin right in front of us and her dress went up. "Niiiiccce!" he says.
After bearing through that heat they were ready for the pool. We were going to come back anyway since it was EMH night and would be open til midnight. As we got to the bus stop, the wind had really picked up and the palm trees were really swaying. By the time we got to Pop, the sky was getting gray. We took a dip in the pool and then got some dinner at the hotel. We took dessert back to our room and by then it started to sprinkle. Soon it started to pour and the new said it was going to do that the rest of the night. So much for going back to MK. But it was okay. The kids played with their new toys and we got to watch "Lost" and we talked and told Disney jokes and laughed so hard! After the day we had yesterday it was just what we needed. It was like being back home. Thank you God, for the much needed rain to rediscover our family. Even though we were just in our room and not in a park, I think this was the best night of our whole trip, just being together having fun. :grouphug:

Sorry about EPCOT. We had a bad experience there last year, too. But I'm glad to hear that the next day turned out much better.

ITA about MK's funnel cakes. I had never had one until our next to the last day there in August and I'm still kicking myself about not discovering them sooner. Now I'm drooling on the keyboard. :goodvibes

Can't wait to read Episode 9.

Love the reports! Can't wait for the next one! :flower:

I just read them all in a row -- can't wait for the next installment -- your boys sound wonderful and very appreciative and Babe sounds like a great guy (boy was that little baby lucky he was around in Epcot to save him from the lake!) Congradulations on your First trip and wishing you many many more trips and anniversarys!! Michelle
