my dd. I'm sitting here thinking of how jam packed my weekend is going to be this weekend and I'm getting teary eyed and starting to think already about my dd while I'm gone. This weekend my dh is at a conference (and in deep pain I might add - had a kidney stone attach yesterday and last night - another story) and I had planned a nice weekend getaway with dd - we were going to go about 2 hours away and spend the weekend and go shopping and see a play, etc. Well I'm in charge of the holiday food baskets at our church this year and low and behold they are Sunday (and part of tomorrow). So I thought we go tonight. Well low and behold the wreaths that dd sold are coming in tonight and we have to pick them up and then I also have to meet the realtor to sign the contract for my mom's house. So there go our plans of having a great weekend together.

So I've been sitting here thinking of something really really really special that I can bring back from WDW to tell her how much I love her and how much I appreciated all she has done for me since my mom passed away (she was a huge help when we cleaned out mom's house hauling boxes, etc for me). And so I started getting teary and missing her - this is not good!!!!! UGH sucks to be a mom sometimes!!!! :)

Sorry - I just needed to think out loud!!!

Know what you mean Chris - just found out I will be missing Kara's first band concert - whaaa - but she is ok with it - my mom and maybe brother will be there for her - but she did have to remind me this morning that I missed her first choir performance last year

Chris I have been agonising over this for weeks. I have three kids aged 3, 6 and 8 and I have never been away from them for more than a few days. My long distance phone bill for DISCON is going to be huge!

Chris - I'm sorry your plans for a special getaway weekend with your daughter didn't work out this time.

Shannon - buy a prepaid phone card before you go to WDW! If you are a Sam's Club member - calls cost only 3.47 cents per minute.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in the guilt department. While I have been looking forward to Dis con I also was dreading leaving the boys. My 2 oldest are 12 and 15--they will be at their dad's that weekend anyway so its no biggie. However leaving my babies is a very big deal. They are 2 yrs and the baby is 7 months. I actually had been having last minute thoughts of bringing them eventhough I know that then I cant do all the things I want to do. They would be in good hands with dad and my mil. How come they dont give you the disclaimer before you have kids you will feel guilty for ANY fun had with them??

I hadn't been agonizing over it until I just really thought about it. I know all will be okay - she too goes to her dads and in fact has her first Christmas celebration while I'm gone (with her dads family that live 4 1/2 hours away) and she loves going and spending time with her cousins there. So I know she will have a blast.

And good idea Nancy gave there - phone cards are awesome!!! My dd will have one on her just in case while she's gone that weekend. It's a local call from our house to call me on the cell phone (yes even when out of town or state) so that will be no biggie. And Shannon - if while we are there you need to call home - come find me!!!! I will have plenty of minutes to use!

{{{HUGS}}} 99. Sorry your plans with your daughter fell through.

I bought the sweetest pearl earrings (gave them to my sil, darn it, wish I'd kept them). They were pearls with little 14k gold "curls" that looked like ears. My sil loved them.

I don't know if they are still available but I bought them at MGM, I'll go see if I can find the name of the little store, they had some pretty jewelry in there. You might find something special for your daughter there.

That would be awesome Kath!!!! Thanks. I've got a couple of ideas but I'd love so more. Her golden birthday is that Friday after I get back and I'd love to give her something just totally awesome!!!! I've thought about snowglobes or a crystal something (not really outrageous expensive) or jewelry. They also have a nice jewelry area at World of Disney too. I'd love to get her a snowglobe but then I have to carry it on the plane so I think I'm leaning away from that.

Thanks for any suggestions!
