Am I nuts for going December 19th thru the 24th? I am worried it will be crowded. This is our first trip and is a good time for us. What do you think?? Anyone??

Its going to be the most crowded time of the year. If you can make your first trip another time I'd highly recommend it. Our first trip was an Easter week, was so bad it kept us away for a long time. Next time we went in early February and it was great. Now we've been so many time the crowded time are not as bad to us since we know we'll be back and don't have to do everything.

we have went at this time of year and it was uncrowded. the crowds did not build until the day after christmas and then it was total gridlock.

We went last year from the 20th-29th. And while the beginning was busy it wasnt horribly bad until Christmas and after. Between getting to the parks for opening, using EE(AK & MK) and using FPs when possible we were able to get a lot more than we had expected done before Christmas. This freed up some time at the end of the week for us to take things slower, do some extra stuff and not fret about having to do it all.
If this were a first and only trip Id wait for a slower time, but if you think you will be going back again, with some careful planning, you should be fine.

We've been during that time in 2001, 2002, and we're going back this year. The crowds start out light and gradually build up until Christmas, but it's not really bad until about the 23rd. It's our favorite time of year!
