anyone try it?
i am having a hard time understanding how the food dosent need to be in the freezer!! what do u do with the meat and fish and dairy?

I haven't tried it, but I think they deliver it to you weekly so it just stays in the fridge. I think you can keep some things in the fridge for a week before it spoils.
Maybe I wrong about the way that works though :confused3

I've tried it & didn't care for it. It all comes in a box, all your food for the month. I found it bland & tasteless.

if you have a biglots around you they have some of their meals. I think they are 1$ they look gross... no wonder you lose weight..

I've tried it and didn't like it. The food was very bland and there was some of it I couldn't eat at all. Very bland.

They say "oh and the food tastes so great." I'm from the south and I love my salt! I just have a hard time believing that would be anything that would tempt my taste-buds!

Their food reminds me of army food. Alot of taste bland and icky. Alot of it you have to add water to while you are cooking it except would be their freezer meal program through schwans, but I found that stuff nasty too.

They do have a newer and more expensive option that has frozen options. Otherwise their "regular" plan is boxed foods that are shelf stable. Then you add in your own fresh produce, lean protein/dairy. So add that in when you are figuring out how expensive it is to be on this plan.

Ex for breakfast you add in a dairy/protein and a fruit. Say a hard boiled egg or a yogurt and a small apple.

lunch you add in a dairy/protein and veggies (it used to say salad every day for lunch, they have since changed it). Say an ounce of deli meat and a salad with no fat dressing.

snack a protein and a fruit/veggie. I did a lot of string cheese and a bit of dried cranberries.

dinner again add in two servings of veggies and a fruit or salad.

It can work. I lost 20 lbs doing it 3 years ago. I did it on and off after my daughter was born. Had a harder time sticking to it. Missed "real " food and cooking. I did start Weight Watchers and feel it's just healthier and I can cook. Even if the weight isn't coming off as fast as I'd like (haven't been very strict with vacation and PMS ;) ) I do feel I'm overall eating healthier.

I did it a few years ago, and lost about 50 pounds. I learned to be very picky about what food to order - if it was something that turned out well in the microwave (like a pasta dish) it was O.K. "Meat" type dished, not so much.

And I spent a lot of time working out my servings (O.K., I had two eggs, thats two protein servings, so I get one more, so tonight I'll...) and worrying about what to eat next. It all became very tedious.

BUT I did learn what 1200 calories a day looked like, what I should be eating every day in fruits and vegetables, and how to count fat and carbs along with calories. So now I'm doing it on my own, buying Lean Cuisine, remembering what NS recommended for a snack, etc.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

a friend did nutrisystem and one day her fil was over so she offered to let him take a taste of the meal she was eating. he took one taste and was convinced the company had bought out all the left over military meals from ww2 and simply re-packaged them:rotfl::rotfl:

btw-costco sells nutrisystem meal package cards, a family member and his wife did the program recently and swore they saved quite a bit of money purchasing it this way (you buy the card from costco on line, then enter the information on the nutrisystem site to order just like if you were paying them directly).

I am currently doing Nutrisystem. I buy the food on ebay which has been a lot cheaper than buying it from the company, but you don't really get the best selections this way.

I lost 60 lbs on my own by eating right, counting calories and exercising, but I've been unable to lose the last 25 lbs or so that I would still like to lose. This is why I decided to try Nutrisystem.

Some of the food is horrible, some is ok, and there are a few things that are pretty good. I've been on it 6 weeks and have lost approx. 10 lbs.

My DH has been on it for three weeks. They deliver monthly. He's already lost 18 lbs. and loves the food. :woohoo:

I tried it once and although I am not a picky eater, I thought the food was horrible. It didn't look like the pictures on the boxes, that's for sure. In fact, eating the boxes probably would have tasted better!

I ended up sending the rest back for a refund because it was so nasty.

I did lose weight with it, but found I had to do a whole lot of doctoring up the food (ie, add veggies, tomato juice, lots of spices, etc) It got to be really expensive buying their food plus all the other food I had to buy.

I did make some good money selling the leftovers on Ebay!!!

I did Jenny Craig for a year and lost 70 pounds. I tried Nutrisystem last year and lost 7 in 6 weeks. I hated it. Jenny Craig is much more expensive but so much better and easier. If you can afford it, I recommend JC
