I have read in other posts a mention of nurses discounts, but cannot find any mention of these elsewhere, not on mousesavers. Anyone with information on this?? Thanks

Hello. The Swan and Dolphin offer a nurse's discount rate of $129/night, plus tax. They are the only resort that does this as far as I know.

Check out the The Official - Unofficial Swan and Dolphin FAQ with Discount dates to 11/2003 thread at the top of the resorts board.

Here is some info from there:

Government employees and teachers have special rates. Teachers/Nurses must ask for the TEACH/Nurse discount. Bring identification to prove that you are either. You can reserve up to three rooms with this discount. Government employees are anyone that works for the Federal, State or city government. This is also available to all of our Canadian government employees! The Teacher rate and the Government rate are $129 for 2001, based on availability. The new Disney Card (replacing the MKC card) with the Entertainment logo on the back will be honored as an Entertainment Discount at the Swan and Dolphin.

There are new dates listed that this rate is good for on the FAQ.

I booked our upcoming trip to the Dolphin with the Nurse Rate. FYI...I called the Dolphin and they said they didn't have availability for my dates with this discount  Thanks to these wonderful boards...I went through Dreams Unlimited...and they got me three rooms at the nurse's rate for my entire stay! :D If you have any trouble...I would recommend Dreams Unlimited!

Good luck. It is a fantastic rate (please note there is a $10 per night fee that is added...thus the actual rate is $139/night, but that is still an awesome rate for a deluxe resort next door to Epcot!)

;)

We just got back from 9 nights at WDW, and spent the first 3 at The Swan using the nurses discount. It is one of the best values at WDW, IMHO. The resort is great. I'd stay there again in a minute.

There is a $10 resort fee, but if you make a big enough stink, they waive it or decrease it to $5. Still even $139 for a deluxe on the Boardwalk is an awesome deal, when you consider what you pay for a moderate at certain times of the year.
