Nurses..........Crocs?

I was just looking at some of the new crocs last night , and they have a new model called the specialist, no holes......specifically designed for hospital workers..........
Do any of you nurses wear crocs to work?

I have been wearing Dansko clogs for years, but I was thinking of getting a pair of these "specialist" crocs.

I havent seen those ones, but I would be concerned about the bottom of them , I find that crocs are very slippry on wet serfaces and I would not wear them at work. If they have some sort of non slif tread on the bottom I might try them as they are comfortable, but I just dont find them very safe, its too easy to slip in them I dont even let my kids wear them.

hmmmm. i have never slipped in mine, and I wear them in summer around the pool.......... but I was wondering the same thing about the work ones...... on the crocs work shoes site they do show the bottom of another style that they say is geared toward food service, and it looks like there is something non slip on the bottom of those,
but I don't know about these.
they are just so darn comfortable.........I have 3 pairs of danskos i rotate, but I am in need of a change!

I also saw the specialist. I want to try them! I work 12 hour shifts in the hospital and I love my crocs!! I tell my DH it is liking wearing slippers to work! I also have a pair of the Dansko shoes but they hurt- I just need to stretch them out.

My dansko without backs had to stretch, the ones with backs seem more roomy and comfortable to me........and i got them in the same size!
the other night though, they seemed to be rubbing the tops of my toes, and they never did that before!
so that was when i started to think about the crocs!

I have the Dansko's with the back and they seem to rub right across the top of my foot. I was thinking of going to Hallmark today to look for those new crocs and see how they look.

All the docters/nurses at our local hospital wear them and love them. When I was there visiting my brother after an operation last Summer, my DD was wearing hers, and we had a big conversation with a nurse. She said she loved hers and they're the best after a long day!

I have never worn any of the crocs. I have never wanted a shoe that had holes nor an open back. I am an oncology nurse and noooooo need to have a bit of blood or vomit on my socks.

But on the positive side, besides the comfort of the shoe, I do also see a plus in the fact you can clean them so easily.

That is why I never thought about wearing them before because of the holes, but this new style has no holes, and a higher back at the heel.
and the clean up factor sounds good to me too!

I am a nurse and have worn my Crocs to work for over a year now. My feet have never felt better. They don't sweat (and therefore don't stink), the shoes can be easily cleaned (don't ask what I have cleaned off my shoes) and I have Disney Jibbitz in them to make me smile when things get a little hairy!! We got a memo from the hospital recently warning us of the possible issues with the open holes. OSHA may have a say in it at some point, but until then, I love my Crocs. I would be willing to go to the ones without the holes if I were forced to, but until then, I'll keep my traditional ones.

I am a medical secretary and I wear crocs to work all the time. Alot of the girls at the office where crocs as well. I love the fuzzy crocs they have out. You cant get enough of them..lol

A lot of hospitals that I've been in lately have banned crocs and clogs.
Maybe that should be a question I ask at my interview...

Clogs?? what on earth for?
i have been wearing clogs for at least 10 years.........prior to that I had plantar fascitiis til i discovered my danskos. I would change workplaces before giving up my clogs......

We are only allowed to wear the kind with no holes. It makes a big difference after a 12 hour shift. I love them.

ive never worn them, but my hospital has recently banned them, due to safty and infectious issues. I know several nurses who say they are great, I've just never worn them for some reason or another.

I work 12-hour shifts as san RN and love my Crocs (Professionals, I think...closed top with holes on the side). I don't find them slippery at all -- unless they're old and the soles have worn down. I like that I can just rub them down with bleach solution or CaviWipes to clean them. FWIW, I have a pair of Dansko clogs that I can't wear -- feel like I'm walking on concrete -- and I have plantar fasciitis.

Just don't wear them on snowy days -- that walk from the parking lot can be nasty
