Our window opened last night to book ship activities/port adventures on the Fantasy. We are first time cruisers, so I understand that we have the last pick of times, but it appears that none of the nursery times for the entire cruise were available. The options was completely grayed out for every day of the itinerary. Has anyone else experienced this?

most likely 1 of two options
  1. Your cruise will be cancelled so they just didn't bother making it available for booking
  2. You cruise will be going ahead but the nursey will be closed. On The UK Disney Magic sailing this summer, the nursery is closed, so they are probably going to follow the same policies and procedures

Thanks for the insights everyone. I'm going to contact Disney and will post updates here.

The last time I was on DCL you signed up for that on board, not ahead of time.

when we sailed in Dec 2019 you signed up for it in advance like you signed up for other excursions and had paperwork you had to turn in in the terminal or on board by a certain point in the cruise. don't remember if they allowed signups on board though am guessing they had some slots for that.

Interesting. I was over running by then, so it held no appeal. But prior when I was into running and that airstrip looked like fun, you could only sign up on board.

It used to be only on board signup. When we did it [we walked it, I don't run] I think they had only been doing the sign up online before thing for a little while - months maybe ? Will be interesting if they continue it once things settle back into "normal" operations.

For the nursery, I wonder if that may end up being one the of the last things to return? While they can mask and vaccinate the CMs, the children in care will have neither, and physical distancing isn't possible either, making it a high(er) risk environment.

I wonder if they started it when they went to "medals" that were actually race-specific and not the generic Mickey head ones that were used for multiple things.

They had switched to a CC-specific 5K ”medal” earlier. The first time I signed up online was our November 2019 Western Caribbean cruise. Did it again for January 2020 B2Bs on the Magic (sadly, our last cruise, with a succession of cancellations and rebookings since).
