Nurse Tammy's "Waiting for ROFR" Support Group - The Sequel

Sounds like Mississippi is under the gun this am. Prayers to any Dis'ers in the Tupelo area.

The mom of the kid who tried to break up the initial scuffle last night wigged out at one of the games earlier this season when he got hurt in the game. I could see her going nuclear and legal if she finds out. The kids all signed a code of conduct under state athletic commission rules at the beginning of the season, as did parents. I am guessing this is probably a violation of that policy as well. Just wrong on any number of levels.

Enough on that subject - I will keep you posted.

Here is a link to a tribute to Brudda Iz. He has a haunting voice. This song was also used in a Rice Krispies commercial recently. This is one that Laxlad and I both have on our playlists.

Hello guys..I have a totally off the subject question. My husband and I are taking a no kid disney vacation in a few weeks. We have not been there without the kids so this will be a new experience. I need to make dining reservations with the DDP. We always go to the same places..more kid friendly like the Biergarten..the Garden Grill..Cinderella's castle. What are your favorite restaurants at Disney???

We've had good meals at Cape May, and at the Chinese restaurant at Epcot (Four Dragons?). For counter service, Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland has some good choices - some of which would easily feed 2 people! And a floor show (that singing lizard, or whatever he is). If you haven't done the Polynesian Review, that's fun, too.

I would love to know too. We have never done DDP. To be honest, we don't eat in the parks. We usually eat breakfast in our room and take healthy snacks then eat a late lunch after we leave the park. We do the traditional turkey leg once. We swim, nap and relax - eat an early dinner and head back to the closing acivities.

If you want to eat offsite, I got some suggestions for that!;)

Hey everyone!! I can't believe that we rolled through the other thread so fast!! Anyway, wanted to let you all know that I won't be around much the next 4 days. Today is my baby boy's birthday!!! He's 2 today!! Then tomorrow I'm off to Knoxville, TN. My best friend from high school is getting married and I can't miss it. I can't wait!! The scary thing is that I'm going by myself!!! No husband and no kids! I'm not going to know what to do with myself!:rotfl2: I am taking my laptop with me, but I'm not sure how much I'll really be on it. So have fun and hopefully we'll have some good news when I get back!!!

We love Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Ohanas and Narcoossee's. Good luck with making reservations. Usually people make them 180 days out so you might have to be flexible.

Oh, I got a story about CS in Epcot!! Collegeman wanted sweet and sour chicken with no sweet and sour. Picky eater! He went to China and got just the chicken. Well, he wanted ketchup. No ketchup in China. So he went to the USA. He tried to get it there. They kicked him out!! Seriously kicked him out. He told them his parents were in Mexico and he got food in China but that he needed ketchup. Didn't matter. Kicked him out. He went to Canada who were more than willing to supply him with his condiment. My boy fled to Canada for ketchup. Only at Disney!

Poor guy - should have just gone to America & gotten chicken strips, so they'd be willing to share their ketchup.

He does have a haunting voice. Like the arrangement, which of course does variations on the melody. It would have been nice if he learned all the lyrics, though. He does a kind of "cut-and-paste" on the verses.

How do you know they're not asleep, now.

OK, it's almost 10:30 here. Are you at 8:30? And is the ground being relatively still and well-behaved, today?

No quakes today.... we are 3 hours behind East coast time.

Oh have fun in Knoxville, we loved that area...we lived in Johnson City for a year a couple of years ago and love love loved it!!!

Still no word in the email department.............................seriously this is getting old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For something really special we loved Albert and Victoria's at the GFR. Yes it is spendy but for a special romantic dinner with the hubby it is worth it! I have only eaten there once and it was fantastic!!!!:)

You guys were on a mission to start a new thread! Don't think I can keep up with everything but I did want to say good luck and congratulations to those who have started ROFR or gotten good news on their closing!

I did want to do a special Welcome Home to clombardi - I believe we had the exact same timeline. :welcome: And I'm crossing my fingers it doesn't take the 10 days to get into the system.

I can't believe what happend to Rambler5678 and the seller owing $$$$'s. I too thought that estoppel was supposed to check on those things.

Laxmom - I feel for what you're going thru. When my nephew lost 2 of his good friends when he was a teen (1 suicide, the other a car accident) he was one that had an extremely difficult time dealing - anger, losing temper, fights. He eventually dropped out of HS, got into drugs, left home etc. It was a very, very bad time and he had always been such a good, happy kid. I am happy to say that it took a long time but he got his GED, got himself cleaned up and is back in the family fold. We moved him out here to Reno with us to help put separation between him and his old buddies and he's just been doing very well and working on the growing up that was put on hold for too many years. I'm very happy to hear that Laxlad is dealing well with it and recognizing what bad, unacceptable things are going on. At least you have that bit of good to hang on to. I'm hoping that he remains safe from the other things.

So you are 2 hours behind central (amazing powers of deduction - trained investigator!!!)

Albert and Vickie's is a 2 credit meal, I think - as Cindy's castle may be. Be sure to read the fine print on the details of the DDP.

And in case you haven't explored the DISboards, there's a whole board devoted to restaurants and dining, up above the DVC section.

We had Brudda Iz's Over the Rainbow as the music on our Wedding video. Got married on a beach in Maui so it was a perfect fit!

No quakes today....
We're shaking again in Reno....3.5 last night so not too bad, but lots of little ones after that. I hoped we might be getting past it all. :sad2:

A few of our favorite restaurants are California Grill, Artist Point and I used to love the Italian restaurant at Epcot. I've been hearing good things about it now even though it's changed.
My favorite CS is at the MK - Columbia Harbor house! Go up the stairs for a table - there's a room that juts out over the walkway between Liberty Square and Fantasyland where you can sit and watch the people walk underneath. It can be nuts downstairs and relatively empty upstairs so don't get scared off. I heard that just removed my favorite salad (Galley Salad) from the menu but they have replaced it, and their sandwiches have always been terrific.

We did the DDP one time - happened to catch it on one of the first years of free dining in Sept. We were stuffed!!! And that's saying a lot for my husband - he's thin and can put it down, but even he had to give up! :rotfl2:

favorite restaurants - non kid stuff
I have tryed and liked these:

Coral reef
Boma
Kona Cafe
Il Mulino

I'm in the same boat as you however, we always have the kids in tow. I would love to try California Grill, Shula's Steakhouse, Yachtsman Steakhouse, etc.

Horselover, one fact that may have gotten lost on the last thread was that one of their team mates killed himself last week. Laxlad has played for 3 years and this has been anything but a normal season.

Lax is not a school sanctioned sport yet. It is pay to play but the team wears the school uniform. The school provides the venue and the transportation for away games. We pay for the coaches salaries and the cost of referees; usually $300 per year/ per kid. We have a paid coaching staff of 5, none of which are technically school employees either as teachers or, really, as coaches. They do report to the athletic director who hires and fires. Strange, I know. We are working to get the school to pay their salaries for next season. Last year was the first year that the kids could earn a letter for lacrosse and this is our 6th year having a team.

How horrible for everyone involved. :sad1: I didn't realize that being so new to this thread. Emotions must be running so high for everyone involved with the team. However, as others have said even though it's not a school sanctioned sport IMHO the coaches are responsible for the safety of all players on their team. I will continue to send good thoughts your way for you & Laxlad. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you have the yuckies. Had it myself about a week ago. Not fun :sad2: :headache: Hope you're feeling better soon.

Thanks for all the info. I called dining reservations. We are definitely going to eat at Narcoosies..which we have been to before. We've been to Victoria and Alberts but it is not on the DDP..you just pay. I think we are going to try California Grill at firework time. We have never been there. It is a 2 TS meal. Hopefully it will be worth it. We will be doing a lot of CS since we are using the double TS restaurants. Thanks for the helpful info. I really didn't want to start a new thread because I like all of you people! Thanks

Our favs from the last trip were Ohana (opinions vary on this I know), Boma, & Tutto Italia. For counter service I'd highly recommend Sunshine Seasons at Epcot. Tons of variety & very good quality. Hope you have a great time w/DH

Yes Yachtsman Steakhouse is yummy too...we ate there for X-mas eve one year and were very happy!.. The desserts were outstanding... !!! We ate at California Grill for X-mas day....it was very fun too, the views were amazing.... we had a group of 17 for both of those meals and they were very helpful (all at one table)! That same trip is when we ate at A and Vic's (just adults). That was the year my folks treated all of us to DW for 8 days at the Grand Floridian (over x-mas) and the great places to eat (with my 2 bro's and their families also!) I will have to post a pic. The entire party (17 (8 adults, 9 children)) color coordinated, all the kids had matching clothes, the men same shirts, the women shirts and dresses the same...way fun our pic's are great and it was easy to keep track of all of us the entire time!!! I have to say one my favorite trips of all times.......................................

P.S. when we go (just my DH and kids) we are a little more budget friendly! Well a lot more!!

Heading a bit north to check on family this afternoon, through the weekend. If I find decent wireless access, may check in.

Meanwhile, if anything earth-shaking (other than the routine kind, for Kat and Princess, that is) happens, I can be contacted at

dadunk@bellsouth.net

Somebody e-mail me if we fill up this thread over the weekend!

Have a good one -

Jerry

My phone just range....Caller ID was Orlando, FL! I was thinking.....did the mouse call me to tell me I was in their system? But no, it was a credit card company calling me about reducing my rates! They never identified themselves(just a persons name that is also my guides name and saying they were calling form member services so my hopes were up for even a few more seconds!) and I don't think any of my cards are base in FL. Can you believe the coincidence?!?!? :sad2:

Poor guy - should have just gone to America & gotten chicken strips, so they'd be willing to share their ketchup.

Our kitchen shuts down when we run out of ketchup! I think we thought we would all eat together and didn't figure it would be so difficult to find.

He does have a haunting voice. Like the arrangement, which of course does variations on the melody. It would have been nice if he learned all the lyrics, though. He does a kind of "cut-and-paste" on the verses.

That will probably be the song we dance to at Laxlad's wedding. It just kind of touches us both the same way.

It is so sad to me that kids have so much to deal with that they aren't equipped to handle. Shoot! I am having trouble and I am not a teen. I'm glad everything worked out for him. We definately have our radar on. Laxlad seems to be handling it better than we are. But then we have the added stress of worrying about him.

We had Brudda Iz's Over the Rainbow as the music on our Wedding video. Got married on a beach in Maui so it was a perfect fit!

We were so prolific on that thread that I knew you didn't know. You would have never caught up with this bunch if you tried to read it all!;) We still have more questions than answers. He was a great kid and will be greatly missed.
