Number of Points needed

If I were to purchase a small contract, less than 100 pts., how could I maximize those points between banking and borrowing.

Is it conceivable that someone with 75 points could, in essence, use 225 points every 3rd year?

Does the use year become important under this scenario?

I ask because DW isn't a "huge" fan, and wouldn't want to go every year -- Sorry.

Thanks for the help.

1st: Bank (75pts in bank)
2nd: Use banked points, use 2nd year points, borrow (-75pts in bank)
3rd: look at pictures from last years trip ;)
4th: repeat year 1

We have a small contract and are doing something like this (although I catch myself reading the reseller boards too much). We have 100 pts and can basically use it as 150 pts two out of every three years.

Use year could play an important part on which use years you have available to bank and borrow for a stay, especially the first time. For example, if you have an August use year and you want to stay in June 2005, you would use banked 2003, current 2004, borrowed 2005. A last minute cancellation could have big complications. For an August 2005 trip, you would use banked 2004, current 2005 & borrowed 2006. A last minute cancellation might not be as bad.

This is very workable for the right owner. The one problem with doing this is that most people who are trying to go small are looking at studios and then end up with larger units. If you go this route, don't cut it too close on the number of points. For example, if you think you'd use 175-200 every 3 years, don't buy less than 75. Overall, I'd prefer to see people in this situation buy 150 and then rent them out if they won't use them all. There are so many more options including resale choices for 150 over 75.
