Sounds like WDW is super crowded this holiday weekend. I must say I'm glad I'm not there right now. But... 3 weeks from today I will be!

Hi everyone. My family and I will be arriving in Disney Aug 24 with a split stay 24- 28 at the ASM and 28- 31 at AKL. Staying with both sets of parents so we booked a 2 bedroom suite at AKL. Couldn't handle more then 3 nights with everyone in the same space (2 kids and 5 adults)

Question- on the tour of the restaurants is that an extra charge or something do for free?

Hi everyone - we just booked a 1BR at AKV for March 20-22. It's our first time staying at AKL and are so excited to try it. We booked the savannah view so hopefully that will be a big hit with the kids.

So, the "tropical" outlook for Orlando during the week of June 9th looks bad. There is a possible tropical storm suppose to form over the state... Means rain, rain, rain... I am so not happy.. June is suppose to be too early for this crap

What exactly is the tour of the restaurants? If its pretty much as the name states, is it limited to AKL. Also is there a link to more info?

At 3:45pm most days, there is a "Culinary Tour" of Boma and Jiko. First you get to tour the pods of Boma -- very helpful if you've never eaten there -- and sample a soup and Zebra Dome cloud9. From there, you go to Jiko, where you get information about the restaurant and get to sample the breads/dips. You do not have to be an AKL guest to do this tour.


There is a tour of Sanaa, but I have not done that so I can't comment on what that tour entails (I have eaten there many times and love it! )

I have not heard or seen anything about "new bedding". Can you share your source?

There are several of the AKL regulars who will be there in the next month....... I'm sure they will give us a full report!

That appears to be for DVC, not the resort.

CSR had it when I stayed there in February. I would imagine if the Mods have it, the deluxes do too!

We check in at Kidani Sunday, so I will update about bedding there.

Am I now a regular? Ha! Can't wait to let everyone know! Kidani was still definitely the old soft goods but they weren't bad in April. Curious!
