Nuclear Blunder

Exactly and thank you for helping me out.

LakeAriel, I just gave the advice I did because I just don't think it's healthy to be this angry at Bush all the time. I'm in no way trying to dismiss your feelings and was just trying to be a friendly voice of reason. While I don't share all your views on certain subjects, I will defend your right as an fellow American to have those views and won't dismiss them. I kind of understand where you're coming from and part of me respects and admires your passion. My advice was, don't let that passion consume you and affect the quality of your life. It serves no purpose to mad all the time, especially when your anger doesn't change anything.
He wasn't responsible for this and you can damage your credibility of any future, legitimate debates by pursuing a non issue like this. There's plenty of things Bush has done that you can rightfully hammer him for and I'm sure he will give you plenty more in the near future. ;)

I went through this entire thread and was shocked by the attitude of certain posters. For the life of me I still can't figure out what Luv Duke did to warrant the unnecessary responses she received and it wasn't fair or justified. I guess some peoples emotions are so near the surface on this war, that they're looking for fights that aren't just there. :confused3

It's gotten to the point that you can't have a reasonable, calm discussion anymore about the war or how it's affecting the country. :sad2:

Once again I concur with you. I'm a rampant, (occasionally raving) liberal and while I understand Lake Ariel's feelings I also know Bush isn't to blame for this one. While the 'fish rots from the head' as they say this one isn't his fault.

Exactly and thank you for helping me out.

Just to set the record straight. I cannot stand this administration, think they should be impeached and have cost the lives of many thousands. When I am not thinking of him I am not angry at all. As a matter of fact I just got back from a fabulous trip to Universal and Disney..where I had a blast. :cheer2:

....To the OP:.... Try not to allow your anger and your feelings to seep into your political ideology. It may be hard and feel impossible at times, but to be this angry all the time isn't good for you. Just trying to offer some friendly advice.

Excellent point.

Didn't you know everything is President Bush's fault? My dog wouldn't take his pills this morning. That's President Bush's fault because my 13 year old dog has some liver problems which he wouldn't have if President Bush wasn't responsible for global warming and the pollution that is everywhere today, which is probably what caused my dog's liver problems.

There was no global warming or pollution before President Bush's tenure in office.

.

Bush is no more responsible for "global warming" than Al Bore is for the internet. :rotfl:

But if it had rained on your trip, the administration would not have had anything to do with it. That's the point Eddie and I are trying to make.

Give them the blame they deserve, write your senators to get them impeached for what they actually did wrong...but blaming him/them for things that they clearly had no direct link to only harms YOU and your credibility for future conversations. You become an example of BDS for the 29%.

Does Bush command the Air Force? He is responsible, albiet indirectly. Everything this administration touches is, or becomes a disaster. Sorry.

On day to day operations? No, he doesn't. So he's not responsible for this. That would be like saying the CEO of Walmart should be held personally responsible for someone slipping and falling in one of their stores because an an employee forgot to put out the "Wet Floor" sign after mopping up a spill.

You are being blinded by your hatred!!!

Some of your friends have even stated he can't be held responsible for this!!

Just an honest question do you blame other presidents...lets say Clinton for Military mistakes made while he was in office? An honest answer please.

Actually I'm surprised that she hasn't answered back that Clinton didn't make any military mistakes in his Presidency. Especially the ones he had a direct say in.

You get used to it, Eddie, as they continually prove ............. You can't make this stuff up. :lmao:

I think the point many are trying to make is that a more accurate assessment of your position is, "Every disaster is the fault of this administration." That, of course, makes your arguments far less persuasive when there really is some fault of the administration. It's not hard to find fault with the Bush Administration. But no one who's paying attention at all is going to take you seriously if you blame President Bush for things like this.

Blame him for Iraq. Blame him for immigration. Blame him for the economy. Blame him for tax policy. Blame him for FEMA's lack of responsiveness. Blame him for the Patriot Act. Blame him for any number of things he has a hand in. This is plainly not one.

Yes, that's exactly the point. Lord knows, you can find something this President has done wrong without breaking a sweat. Assigning blame to him on those rare occasions where he isn't directly responsible only dilutes the arguments for the situations where the real responsibility lies. It allows his supporters to paint anyone who speaks against him as extremists who would blame him for anything.

I will be happy to "blame" him for the economy. The economy is doing just fine thankyou.

I agree. Just saying at least then you've got something that President Bush has some impact on. If someone wants to blame him for monetary or fiscal policy, more power to ya. Not saying I'll agree, but at least there's a basis for discussion.

Careful there, Dawn, rather than the 100,000 new jobs projected last month the rate was a negative 4,000.

and the past two months were revised down. can we say the "R" word yet boys and girls?

While he gets "pats on the back" for a good economy, something tells me he won't get any blame for a bad one. :rotfl:

I don't think the housing market would agree with you or the all time record high rate of foreclosures is something to crow about.
