"Now when can we go back??" - Aug/Sep 2009 TR

So glad they were able to take you at Tusker House... and that you didn't get too stressed out by getting to the park so late! Good for you!

Looks like all your boys worked up an appetite! :rotfl: They really can eat, can't they?

Glad they liked Nemo and of course the Boneyard was a hit!

Looking foreward to the rest of your day...

Kathy

Hey Kathy! Thanks for coming over...all in all we had a good first day...with a couple of hiccups along the way!

Hahahahah! I love your son's face in the last two pictures - he looks so surprised about Planet Hollywood. :rotfl:

Did you like the pool? We NEVER went in! I can't believe it. :headache: I really wanted to too!

We loved the pool...

Yeah...that was a little acting!! He is a charcter!

Great update my son use to be like that also he's still a lil weary of some things but not as bad as he use to be!! AS SOON AS YOU SAID YOU DID IT'S TOUGH TO BE A BUG after dinosaur I thought to myself this can't be good. We ate at Yak N Yeti CS also and had the same visitor(s) probably the day we were at Yak n yeti there were like 4 of them! :goodvibes Did you like the Honey Chicken? That's what me and DS had and we liked it. He also had a frozen lemonade. It was very filling . Next time were going to try out YAK N YETI RESTAURANT IN AUGUST.

That's too funny that yall live so close to us! It really is a small world after all! :goodvibes

Aww, I'm so sorry that your youngest was afraid of Dinosaur and ITTBAB! But, SO glad that he ended up loving Kali! So fun!

Mmm, I've never had anything to eat from Wolfgang Puck Express but like you, have heard awesome reviews. We'll have to check it out!

Can't wait to read more!

Oh no, sorry your son didn't like Dinosaur!! I don't blame him though...first time I rode it I freaked out and I was 13. I still cannot look at the big one at the end. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Awww, sorry that your Animal Kingdom day started out rough! I'm glad you ended the night well though. Yeah, Definitely put Camp Minnie Mickey on your to do list for next time, we saw so many characters over there within the matter of about an hour. My dd5 was too short for Dinosaur in May, but when we go back in August she'll be tall enough and she wants to go on. I hope she likes it. She did like It's tough to be a bug, so hopefully she'll like Dinosaur because I LOVED it.

The poolside movie sound great!!

So, I have a question for you! What did you think of the weather. Next August will be our first time going over the summer. We went in May, and then in the past we've been to Florida in February and March, so I have no idea what i'm getting into. Will you go back again during the same time?

Yes it is funny...maybe we have to do a Dismeet one day!

Great update,

Everyone looks like they are having so much fun....especially the kids...there is nothing like the first trip to Disney.

I always miss the parade at AK .....I am going to put that on my must do list this time around....I hope my kiddos get some good character interaction....

The movie by the pool sounds like a great way to wind down the evening along with some touring DTD.....

Never been to Wolfgang Puck Express....I will have to check that out too....so was it busy when you guys went?

Loving your report. It is the same time we go next year so I am checking out the weather as well!!! Keep it coming!

Yeah I didn't know what I was in for...a Rookie's mistake! :lmao: I enjoyed the meal...although I thought the rice was overcooked and I wish I would have had noodles. I gave the frozen lemonade to my older son whci he share with his brother. We have many vistors...my son was just obessed with taking pictures of the duck. Hopefully my baby will be better with rides next year...we will see.

It was a little much...my oldest liked it though.

Knowing how my son was this year, we will do Camp Mickey & Minnie...he LOVED the characters!! The movie by the pool was great...I just have to remember to have dinner before we go.

Now I don't have much of a problem with the heat, so to me it wasn't that bad...stayed in the low-mid 90's. I didn't like the rain though...out of the 7 days we were there it rained like 5. Mostly in the evening though. We still were about to enjoy the parks though.

WPE was actually empty when we went...but we didn't make it there until like 9 or 9:30pm. The pizza was excellent though!

Loving your report. It is the same time we go next year so I am checking out the weather as well!!! Keep it coming!

The weather was not too bad...it was hot some days, but a little misting fan and the AC in the rides did the trick...if it didn't rain it would have been perfect. I would go around the same time again next year.

Oh, Ok, thanks for the weather update!! I'll tolerate the rain, I know it usually rains everyday for a little while during those months. Did the rain last for a few hours or was it more like a half hour/ and hour? Thanks

I know I have been MIA from my TR for a few days...I promise I will update tonight. I am getting ready to clean out the refridgerator so I can go grocery shopping today. Once we are all settled back in this evening I will move on to Day 2 of our trip!

Here are a few pictures of the boys from the 1st week of school:

A couple of the days it rained for a few hours...however there were a few with no rain at all! It was tolerable, I just wish we would have had the waterpark option...then we would have just spent the time at DQ...a little note for next time!

So I set the alarm to go off at 7 am…it did and I also received a wake up all from Mickey as well. I made a pot of coffee and showered. Well the night before DS10 complained that his feet were hurting from his sneakers, and THAT WAS ALL WE BROUGHT?!?!? OH NO!!! :sad2: What am I going to do?? Why didn’t I get them Crocs while I was at the outlet before we left home?? So I send Tammy (OneTreeHillAddict) a text to see if she knew where I could get them off of the Disney property…she was so funny in saying that once they get to Orlando they don’t leave the property. :rotfl: So I went to the age old phone book and looked up Crocs….and there you have it. I wrote down the address, me and DS10 plug it into the GPS and we were off. The mall was like 15 minutes away…they had a little kiosk in the mall :thumbsup2. I purchased a pair for both of the boys and back to the resort we went.

I called DH to see if him and DS5 were dressed and ready to go…of course they weren’t ?!?! :scared1: When we make it back to the resort, DS5 is dressed but now we are waiting for DH to get dressed. I just knew that me leaving them would give them time enough to get dressed…I guess not. Well we have missed Rope Drop and breakfast and at the rate we are going we may not even make lunch!!! After about 20 minutes we were ready to go…

AHHHH...we are here!! YEAH!! :yay:

Day2001.jpg

We decided after parking that we would take the ferry boat over to MK….I could not believe how DEAD it was. There were only about 15 people waiting for the boat including us?!?! We were actually close enough in the parking lot that we didn’t need to take the tram to the TTC.

Maybe one day we will stay here:

The ride to the park was wonderful…relaxing and looking at the Castle in the distance was magical. MK is my FAVORITE park…it the only park the we had been to before this trip. I just love it…magic EVERYWHERE. I could walk around MK , eat and shop all day.

I am sooooo happy:

So enough with the photo show! :lmao: We decided to eat lunch at Casey’s Corner, since it was right on Main Street and I read great reviews about it on the boards. DH and I had a Hot Dog and fries, the boys both got corn dog nuggets with fries. The cheese sauce for the fries was the BOMB!!! I loved it…the boys enjoys it too, DH just stuck with ketchup. For desserts we got Cracker Jacks for the boys and brownies for the two of us…the brownies were disgusting…so needless to say we through them out.

After leaving Casey’s Corner we headed over to Adventureland and we met up with this guy:

Day2027.jpg

DS5 had to stop for a picture, by now I think DS10 was over the character interaction. He just wanted to get on some rides. Of course as soon as we get to the front of the line Rafiki needs a break??!! But it wasn’t too long though, long enough for them to go in walk past each other while the new Rafiki came out. After getting his signature and picture with Rafiki, we moved on to ride Aladdin.

Now DS5 LOVES these kinds of rides and he was loving the fact that we was making DH and DS10 nauseous by making the the carpet moved up and down really fast. We enjoyed it and it was a great start to our day. I had already made up my mind going in that I was not going to make DS5 do anything that he did not want to do…

Day2030.jpg

We went to ride Jungle Cruise and the standby wait time was like 10 minutes. I knew from the reviews on this board that the Skipper could make or break this ride. Needless to say our Skipper was VERY boring…she had the CORNIEST jokes you could imagine. And to top it all off there was person on the ride that was trying to be funnier than the Skipper…we were so ready for this ride to be over. This is definitely one that we can skip on our next trip.

I have some pictures from the cruise...however none of them are good, so I am not going to post them...Sorry. :confused3

Stay tuned for Part II of MK…will DS5 survive Pirates??

Oh man, that lady is cracking up over something! :lmao:

And do you know what your skipper's name was? We may have had the same one.. she was lameeee!

The MK is my favorite park too. Love it there! That's pretty cool you got to see the Halloween decorations too.

Hi Stephanie,

That is too bad about Jahil not liking the two rides at AK, but I'm glad the parade was great and the boys had fun :thumbsup2

Here's hoping he is happy w/ the rest of the rides....don't feel too bad, being your first trip, you have to test the waters and really get a feel for what works and what doesn't....

Good score on the Crocs...hope they help!

I am loving your pictures...everyone is so photogenic...the expressions on Jeffery's face in front of PH are priceless.

And you, my dear...you have such a beautiful face...I love seeing you and putting your face w/ the name :goodvibes

and no worries on the not making rop-drop thing....I always have high hopes and we'd be lucky to get 2 out of 8 days....;)

looking forward to more!

and thanks for visiting me on my BLOG!
