Now what?

Okay, so I just got my email from Juliana Acosta yesterday, and my signed contract came back in the mail today. So now what do I do from here? My wishbook isn't all opened yet and I've printed the worksheet, so now I'm just wondering if I can start contacting Juliana with questions about specifics. What am I supposed to be doing at this point??

I think I got an e-mail shortly after receiving the contract that had all the reference docs (what the package included, what choices I had, etc.; I think that may be the worksheet you're referencing). Pretty sure I started asking Juliana questions shortly thereafter. I did it in writing to her e-mail addy so that (a) she could answer it at her leisure and (b) her answers would be in writing--I'm sort of paranoid about that sort of thing!

Sometimes she would write back, sometimes she would call, but Juliana's pretty good at answering your questions within 24 hours. I got a lot of my calls just after 5 pm, just as a heads up. I think that's when she's less busy actually participating in weddings.

I have Juliana too...I emailed her right away just to tell her how happy I was to be working with her. She was very sweet and emailed back immediately. We talked on the phone about a week later. I wouldn't worry about the wishbook too much...it's glitchy and they prefer you to send in the worksheets instead.

Yep...she almost always contacts me in the evenings. I wonder if she ever takes a break! They work so hard...particularly this time of year so if you don't hear from her for a few days I wouldn't worry to much....she will get to you...email is always a safe bet!

YOu start PLANNING..woohoo!

Usually at this time, your WP sends you a list of their preffered vendors, but if you've already booked your people (aka hairdresser, officiant, photographer, videographer, ect...) then you're ahead of the game.
If not, this is the time to do it.

My wedding is a custom, so it may be different. In my case, my WC scheduled a planning session which gave me an idea of how my day will be scheduled out. In your session write down all your questions. Give Juliana as much info as possible.

...what you want, what you don't want, any special requests/issues. The more you tell them, the more they will try to customize the wedding to your needs...and the earlier the better. email, email, email (I work in Finance and have learned how valuble it is to have everything in writing.

Thanks for the fast responses! I already have vendors booked, so I guess I'm doing good in that respect, and I actually booked my MK photo session and my DP in Morocco. I guess I'm doing okay then, I think I just needed the reassurance!

I agree about the wishbook. I didn't hardly look at the wishbook once I had my contract turned in. Actually, disboards was WAAAY more helpful than the wishbook. The wishbook had old prices or didn't list all the options or was too restricting, etc. etc.

If your vendors and DP/MK photo session are already book, you're more than halfway there!
