Just paid off our Disney vacation :cheer2: and now wondering what else to do. I've booked our ADR's, transportation to & from the Airport (we fly into Sanford not MCO). I've slowly started shopping for the kids - new bathing suits yesterday and some tank tops.

What do you all do while waiting for the big day?

Joanne

This Trip's waiting is killing me more than last Year's did. With last Year's, we booked on February 1st, and left on February 28th. I packed as soon as we booked. This year, we booked in February, and aren't going until September! I set all of our ADRs right at our 180 days.

Now we just watch the time pass... So slowly.

Le sigh.

I'm where you are. I'm going to investigate the best places to eat at each park for our counter service meals. Also, I have a little one so I'm sewing and getting together outfits for each park. I'm also on the hunt for super cute but comfy shoes for all of us. We will most likely take breakfast in our room each morning so I need to work on easy breakfast ideas and a grocery list. We are driving, so we can bring a cooler and even sneak in a toaster.

Make some tentative plans! I like to make lists of the things we agree that we must see and CS or snack places we might like to try.

Of course, check DIS everyday to keep yourself excited!

Thanks to all. Sounds like what I'm doing, reading the DIS boards & researching CS. Waiting a little bit on buying the clothing, etc. Each time I go to WalMart I buy some items to take...last time I bought sunscreen, bandaids, powder, toothbrushes, toothpaste....etc.

Its exciting isn't it?

Some things I have done to get ready:

* Make autograph items for kids (like scrap books where pages made for each specific character, making sure there is room to add the photo)
* I have made binders for the kids that include park maps, the schedule, and journal pages for them to document each day. Depending on age of kids, I have added leading questions to help them along. I have also added travel games to the binders to keep them busy in the car/ on the plain.
* Watched lots of YouTube videos of rides & shows
* make my packing list

If you search the boards, you'll find some threads about packing lists which include some items to pack that you would never think of! So, I start making a packing list and put a box in the spare room so I can pick up things whenever I am out. Less scrambling when it gets closer to the trip time if some of your items to pack are already set aside!

ahahaha I keep going on Disboards then playing on Orbitz to see what deals they have to offer. I leave in 21 days. I have to say though I like the wait. It will kill me when it is over and I don't have anything to look forward to!

Thanks for the ideas....Packing list is done, list for box being sent ahead done....hehehe! I will keep revising!

Mynamewastaken: I know...after a Disney trip is the most emptiest feeling! It costs so much for a family of 5 too and who knows when we'll get back.

I am enjoying my anticipation.

I go to WDW in Aug/Sep and Jan/Feb. So right now, I'm in the long stretch of waiting for the August trip. So on top of resort reservation & flight, I've done my packing list and ADRs (which include planning out park days). By the time the trip arrives, I know what I'm going to eat at every TS!
So now I'm doing the initial planning for the January trip, will start looking at airfare and thinking about resorts.

I work on my scrap book - prescrapping pages - see link in siggy
I hate the waiting too
now to figure out what I'm missing & figure out what to do with the pages I made for the DHS parade

If you haven't done up a touring plan, on which park to go to on what day, you could do that now. I like the crowd calendar on easydisney.com It tells you which is the least crowded park each day. Look at park hours, what parades and firework shows times are, and make plans.

You can start laying out clothing, sandals, toiletries, sunscreen, band aids, etc.

We just paid off our trip yesterday - 44 day mark.... and i'm feeling like you - I want more to plan but i've planned so much this past year it's almost pretty done - other than making a countdown for the kids (we're telling them on easter)... once they know i can really start packing - excited for that!

have our ADRs, pirates league... still waiting to book the dessert party (if we can get it- our TA has been calling every ady for us and it's still not open for our dates)

Thanks again for all the replies. I did book the Fantasmic! dinner package yesterday. I was back & forth on that but I figured I'd book it. I think today I'll go back through and see if I can get better times on my Chef Mickey ADR. Although its perfect timing for a dinner and then taking the monorail to MK for Wishes or to the Poly and watch Wishes. Decisions decisions! Ha ha ha....I love these kind of decisions! :cool1:
