a couple of weeks ago my doorbell rang at about 8 AM I went to the door and this 16 year old girl was standing there. She said she had a flat out on the main road and could she please borrow the phone. Of course, I let her in and offered her some coffee ( it was really cold outside!) she tried calling several people for help so she was here for a little while. She played with the dog and the kids and was just as sweet as she could be. Then dh took her back to her car and waited with her until someone showed up to help her.


Today I went out to the mailbox and found a card from her. She wrote a whole page about how kind we were to help her in her time of need and how much she enjoyed our family and how grateful she was that we were so nice to her. She said someday we will be repaid for our kindness and she said that she would pay it forward.

Can you imagine? What a sweetheart! What a thoughtful thing to do, especially for a young person I was just really touched that she took the time to write all that out.

Anyway, I just had to share my little bit of sunshine for the day!
