I'm going to Disney World!
Yes folks that's right, after delving into the wonderful world of wedding planning I have single-handedly ruined the upcoming wedding for my daughter (well that's her story and she is sticking to it.) I mean I thought I was good at planning stuff. Look at the Great Pin Adventure, that was fun right? So when Ashley decided to get married this summer I was more than happy to help her out with a few ideas:
Well, they vetoed every one of these ideas and it was even suggested that perhaps I should just go somewhere and let them do the wedding themselves. You don't have to tell me twice so given that direction I started dialing around checking flights and hotels. Next thing Trina knew I had two tickets to Orlando and a room reserved for April 16 - April 22 at the Swan. She seemed kind of ticked off until I reminded her that I had two (2) tickets meaning she was going too. That was different, she called Ashley wished her good luck with the planning and began packing. So I am wondering, is anyone else making a run for the border and going to be in Walt Disney World during that time? I would love to see anyone and everyone when we get there. Maybe we could meet at one of Scoop's seminars and make a party out of it. After all, I have given WDW nearly 7 months to recover since the last time I tipped the park over.

- The colors should of course be purple and teal.
- Since her name is Ashley, we could use the logo of the Diamondbacks within the decorations.
- Since she wants a dance at the reception music selections should include The Chicken Dance, the Bank One Ballpark Roof Opening Theme, and the Theme to Indiana Jones. Bonus points if they know the happy pin dance.
- Bobblehead dolls make great cake toppers.
- The Arizona Diamondbacks Team Shop is the only bridal registry you need.
- There should be mini-adventures all around town on the wedding day, sort of a Where in the World is the Wedding Party.
- Instead of a toast, all guests at the reception should do the wave.
- Each guest should get a passport when they arrive at the reception and they have to get 80 other guests to stamp their passport to be entered into a drawing for fabulous prizes.
- Mention pins in the invitations and watch the guest list balloon to over 350 people carrying small suitcases of metal.
- There should be a scavenger hunt leading up to the reception and guests should arrive with menus, napkins, and autographs of people working around town.
- Refreshments should include hot dogs, peanuts, cracker jacks, and cotton candy.
- The bachelor party should be at Bank One Ballpark in the pool.
- Home plate makes a perfect backdrop for exchanging vows.
- Disneyland makes a perfect location for a honeymoon and could she pick up a few pins from this list. Oh and would she mind being a proxy pin trader?
- Lanyards make perfect thank-you gifts for everyone attending.
- Televisions tuned to ESPN need to be located within eyesight of the receiving line.
- The only valid dates to have weddings are during away games or the off-season. Check the schedule before deciding on a date or leave me a number where I can call in to give the bride away.
- Baseball hats are required attire. Black ones of course since this is a formal event.
