Just curious ... how do they handle discounts? We just showed our AP and got the discount at whatever shop/restaurant we were at. Now that the APs don't have photos, do you have to show ID with AP to get discounts? Just curious as to how they're handling this with all non-photo APs.

They did away with photos on AP's? Wonder why? All of our have pictures on them. Will they make us get the new one? Last month they did the finger thing at the gate and what a pain! It really seems to jam the lines up more than necessary.

I don't think we have to get new APs as long as they are current, but for someone who is just getting an AP, they are the paper tickets now w/no photo, not the hard tickets with photos. I think only the Premier APs (or whatever the most expensive APs are) have photos and are the hard cards, and they are the only ones who don't have to be biometric. I too hate the finger scans (both at WDW and UO). They take forever! I am just curious as to how they know that an AP w/o a photo hasn't been transferred and is still entitled to a discount.

Yes, that will be interesting to see if they implement a scan system for the discounts. Last month they were still just looking at them. Someone mentioned (damo?) in another post that the discounts at some venues have decreased. Sure enough I was having a look and some that were 15% are now 10%.

as long as you don't let your current photo id ap lapse, you can renew it.
if it expires, then it's on to the paper ap for you.

yes, i saw the discounts have changed.
oh snap.....
