and "signature"... what is the difference between lunch and dinner? Why book dinner if I can get the same food/experience as lunch? My husband only wants the filet, so if they serve it at lunch on the dining plan, I should book for lunch and save myself a dining credit, right?

That's just it...it's not the same at lunch. A couple of menu items carry over but those are apparently smaller portions. it's been reported that the filet is a few ounces smaller at lunch. There are other menu items at dinner that are not served for lunch. I don't do the dining plan...so I don't know about credits, but I thought dinner was pretty good, and I had some buffalo, which you can't get at lunch. But if you're concerned with the dining credits, and they serve what you are after at lunch, then do lunch.

Exactly!! Many Disers will say that LC is not worth the 2 dining credits....which is why its so hard to get an ADR at lunch now. Very popular! If all you want is filet, then definitely book the lunch. But take a look at both menu's and see which you like best.

If the same filet is available at both lunch and dinner - that's all my husband cares about. :rotfl: he orders the the filet EVERY TIME. And i order it too, although I don't eat mushrooms or steak, so that he can have some of mine, too. (I do eat some of it, just a lot of red meat upsets my stomach)

I just called and they had a lunch at 11:45 so I grabbed that instead of the dinner, saving us a dining credit. We never get in on time anyway, so hopefully it will be more around noon. Just won't eat a big breakfast that day.

From what I can tell, the lunch menu has lunch items with the exception of a smaller version of the filet. The 2 credit dinner has dinner items with a larger filet. IMHO, I don't think LC should be worth 2 credits ever. But you should read through both menus and decide what's best for you.

Mainly pricing.

There are some menu differences but the atmosphere and service are still "regular dining" not "signature" in any way. I was not on the DDP and felt the prices I paid for the food and service etc I received at Dinner were WAY out of line even by Disney standards. I won't be back.

Agreed the only thing that changes at dinner is the menu. The restaurant and atmosphere don't change at all.

I wasnt impressed with the meal i had even with 1 TS credit, but thats another story. Enjoy your trip!

:goodvibes

We always get the DDP, and would usually do Le Cellier for dinner. But, for our last trip we did the lunch because of the change over. My favorite dish is the Mushroom Filet and it is smaller than the portion at dinner, but it more than filled me up. Especially since I get a bowl of the Cheese Soup and then a dessert. So, for me it works out. I actually am more than full. I wouldn't even bother paying extra for the appetizer, but I love that soup sooo much..lol

I also do not think it should be a 2 TS meal, that is why my wife and I booked it for lunch. We love this place.

In your situation, I would defiitely book lunch. I also order the mushroom filet, and we find that lunch often fits better into our schedule than dinner. Although the filet is reportedly smaller at lunch than dinner, I still find it more than adequate. Also as a bonus, if you make an ADR at 11:30 a.m., you will get to witness the opening of the restaurant, which is quite fun.

I booked for lunch for the first time for our upcoming trip. We had always had dinner there when it was not a signature restaurant. I cannot see using 2 TS credits for this restaurant. DH can still have his filet at lunch and I can always find something on the menu that I like.
