I haven't even transcribed my notes yet, so a trip report may be a long time coming (I haven't even finished the report from my May trip!), but here are my overall Impressions de MouseFest 2005.

This was my third MouseFest, and definitely the best yet.

I spent much more time with my Passporter buddies than the last two years, and also spent a lot more time with the folks from MousePlanet, the Unnofficial Guide, and the WDW Today Podcasts. And I still had plenty of time with my friends from Tagrel, com, many of whom I have known both online and offline for upwards of 5 years now.

MF seemed bigger this year, and I don't just mean the MegaMouseMeet, which was in a bigger room and had more attendees. I mean that everywhere I went this year, I saw those terrific AllEarsNet lanyards that Deb and her team were handing out, and the distinctive white ovals of MouseFest buttons that Dave Marx was passing out, and more Passporter PassHolder Pouches than I have ever seen before. I was forever running into folks I knew in between the scheduled meets; it seemed like MouseFesters were everywhere!

I saw a little more mixing of the various web communities this year. People from various web communities were slowly, hesitantly making new friends from other communities, while still having a great time with friends from their "home" communities.

I hosted two meets for Tagrel, com this year and had a fabulous time. Next year, I'm going to try to host an open meet and try to get folks from every community that I'm part of to attend - even if it's just ONE person from each board.

This year I was not run ragged, because I sat down ahead of time and wrote out a detailed itinerary of which meets I wanted to attend. I planned it all out, leaving wiggle room for travel time, meal time, and some attractions time, and followed it fairly closely. I was still very tired at the end of each day, but knowing where I was going and what I was doing allowed me to pace myself and enjoy everything. I even attended a few meets that were not on my original schedule!

Until MouseFest 2003 I had never been to WDW in December, never seen the Osbourne Lights or attended MVMCP - and never had to wear a sweatshirt in Orlando. But now, after three consecutive MouseFests, I'm hooked. I want to be at MouseFest every year, and I hope they continue for a long, long time to come.

to plan it out this way makes it more enjoyable for you too.......thanks for telling us about it
