Now that I have booked my Hotel - Which airport to I fly into?

This will be our first time to Disneyland. DVC member so have been to WDW many times. We will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel for 6 nights.

1 ) Is it ok to fly into LAX?
2) What is the Disneyland equivalent of mears transportations? How much should I pay?
3) Will 3 days be enough for DCA and Disneyland?

Thanks Rob

I always fly into Orange County, John Wayne Airport (SNA). LAX is really too far away.
SuperShuttle runs to DL for $10 per person. They have an AAA discount that drops it down to around $850 pp. It's about a 15-20 minute ride.

3 days is barely enough time to do both parks. DL alone needs a minimum of 2 days with CA needing at least 1-2 days. You'll still have fun and you'll have things that you didn't get to do, to look forward to for your next trip.

have a great time!

Because you are coming from the east coast, I would probably go with LAX. You'll have an easier time finding flights and it will probably be cheaper. If the times and prices work at SNA or Long Beach (lgb) they are both very close to Disneyland. They are both smaller airports, which make them easy to get in and out of.

Can you fly on Jet Blue? If so, I would recommend you do into Long Beach! It is a very small airport and so easy to get in and out of! You can take a taxi from LB to the resort area for about $35.

I flew into lax and found it very simple to navigate. It gets a bad rep, but we went staight to our baggage claim, and caught our shuttle to the rental car place, very simple.

I dont dislike it because its difficult. I dislike it because of the distance and traffic getting to and from.

LAX is further but can save $$ if you're flying coast-to-coast. I much prefer SNA. It's easier to get in and out of and I've had less problems with car rental agencies there.

We always end up doing LAX, because the flight $$ is much lower than getting into SNA, even with paying for transportation. I would love to come into an airport closer, but usually there is no direct flight there and we would have to transfer planes at LAX anyway.......it just depends where you are coming from I guess.

Thanks for the replies.

Well I just picked LAX. I got $124 pp flying out of Buffalo. Couldn't pass up the price. The good news is on our last day we will be flying out at 10:00 pm. This will add another day in Disneyland. Here is our breakdown so far.

Day 1 - Arrive check out the hotels and DD.
Day 2 - Magic Kingdom.
Day 3 - Knotts Berry Farm or Magic Mountain.
Day 4 - DCA
Day 5 - Magic Kingdom/DCA (Walts Footsteps Tour)
Day 6 - Universal Studios or Hollywood.
Day 7 - Magic Kingdom/DCA - Depart.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for Day 3 and 6.

Thanks Rob

we've flown into both LAX and SNA, and depending on the time of day, (like when we get in late at night) the drive from LAX to Anaheim isn't that bad. We always have a car too, and have had good luck there...anyway, Hollywood is definitely worth visiting- you can spend as long or as little time there as you need. You can check out the Disney Soda fountain right on Hollywood blvd. too! I've never been to Universal Hollywood, but we were in LA earlier this month, and we checked out citywalk on friday morning, and it was like a ghost town! I couldn't believe the lack of folks standing in line! It might be worth going to if you're going to be the only people visiting :) When we were in Hollywood on other trips, we also did the tour of the stars homes, which was pretty neat...a little pricey but still neat, especially if you've never been to the area.
I would also say to just be patient with traffic on the freeways. We've had trips with almost no traffic, and others that took waaaay too long to go short distances.
