The smoke blurr adds even more to the sharpness of the castle.
Awesome job!!!

I think the star must be another charge going up. The light is too red and too big to be a shooting star. You can see another one to the right. Near the wire.

Party Pooper!!!It's MAGIC and at Disney it can be a star!! ;) - a girls gotta have something to Wish on right!!! :goodvibes

LOL if only Jack had Wilson to talk to...

since someone posted a spider, here is one that we get around the house all of the time - a huntsmen. btw the tiles are 1" across

and here is a better idea of its size. when it's quiet, you can hear them run across the ceiling

unlike the other spiders (and just about everything else) you find around the place, these won't kill ya.

:rotfl: i thought the same thing except i thought wilson must have shrunk
and memo to self...never go to Australia (& I thought wolf spiders were bad)

OK !!! enough with the spiders!!! those absolutely CREEP me out - I'm with Martha's dd on this one - BAD dreams, BAD, BAD dreams!!! and to think that thing jumped on your lens!! :faint: I'd be replacing my camera about now!!! not to mention recovering from the heart attack I would have suffered in the process!!! :rotfl2:

Not the best of shots, but better than i thought considering i tripped over a log at the same time as the shutter went, hence the look of laughing on her face....

Thought you might enjoy these. They were taken outside my house in Central Florida last night around 8:30 p.m. with a Sony Mavica camera.

These look like the spiders used in the movie arachnaphobia.

Nice shots. It seems very tough to get DOF for the full length on littl ethings like this.

Our grandaughter - Grace. She's our little free spirit - wild hair - doesn't want a barette or ponytails.

Taken with my Canon S2 - using the macro feature for the first time.

Learning as I go...

last night at the Lake (as in Lake Erie).hopefully this will be normal sized as it sure wasn't last night

Jann, you SHOULD go to the land of Oz. I was raised there and I regret moving to Canada. Although I'm a Canadian, I still feel that Australia is my motherland.

thanks for the comments. i was using the 135L plus 32mm of extension tubes for macro. i could have used a smaller aperture, or a wider lens for more DOF

DD and I have not been on any great adventures to Disney this month - sticking close to home and the pool:beach: , maybe this weekend - anyway - I've got pics of cute kitties. Three of our 5 kittens got really great homes. DD could not bear to part with them all so we kept the two boys - Simba and Kovu - they match their mom! Now my little zoo has :dogdance: :dogdance: and:cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: and a :ewok: (well not really an EWOK, but that's as close to a hamster I could get!)

Simba lounging in the sun.

Ah yes, these bring back fond memories of watching huntsmen sit in the corner of my bedroom waiting for a stray fly or mozzie to come along - or better yet, rescuing one from my sisters room! I imagine if I took my wife home and she saw one of these anywhere, she'd die. People have heart attacks over tiny fingernail sized critters over here, let alone something the size of a tea saucer ;)
