I don't know how many of you have seen Plumeria "plants" for sale - I am sure other places, but I have seen that at EPCOT - especially during the F&G Festival. You buy what looks like a stick, you bring it home, stick it in dirt, and wait for it to get roots, and then grow, get leaves, and eventually beautiful fragrant flowers. They make oil from them, as well as they are one of the flowers used in making leis....
Well during the 2004 F&G, I bought myself a "sticK' and brought it home and stuck it in a pot, and I have waited, and waited and waited. It grew, and got leaves... that was it.
Low and behold, this year it has bloomed - just one bloom right now - but there are more buds. I was so excited when I went out this morning and saw the bud had opened. (I really am easily amused.) I don't really have much of a green thumb (I went to college for FORESTRY who would ever think!) Now that I know I can grow them. I'm going to buy more at EPCOT!!!
Here is the picture of my first ever PLUMERIA bloom.... which of course was the point of all this rambling!
