Hi,
We have reservations at Holiday Inn Maingate West but having read different posts about bad experiences there, I am not so sure we wanna stay there now. Also, we really wanted a hotel with a free breakfast in the morning. What other hotels are close to Disney, cheap and have a free breakfast?

I have to tell you that sometimes the"free breakfast" is not worth being the deciding factor. We usually bring our own and if the hotel does not have coffeemakers in the room, bring a small one. Try valuetrips.com for deals. Country Inn and Suites Calypso Cay has free breakfast, a water slide, mini-golf and is 3 min from disney (I timed it) I've seen this hotel as low as $49 on valuetrips. It is a time-share resort (really nice) BUT if you book through valuetrips you are NOT required to do the presetation. Look on mousesavers.com. also. Mary usually has some good deals advertised there.

Embassy Suites (not cheap) has a breakfast that I'd pay for. I've stayed in "hotels'' in which the free breakfast is instant coffee and stale donuts. The lower the price the less likely that the breakfast is going to be worth anything.

Not sure what you mean by cheap but Springhill suites at Marriott Village fits the rest of the bill and brekfast was continental but great. ....and we had a small kitchen! A little cheaper, with brekkie but no kitchen in the same complex is a fairfield inn.

I advise Girl Scout travel groups and my advice is to always ask what the breakfast is. For example, the most popular hotel in Savannah, GA for Girl Scout groups gives a free breakfast. It consists on one cold danish (In plastic) and 4 oz of something that is suppose to be Orange Juice. Your average 12 year old will starve on this!

hello..My mother and I just stayed at the maingate hotel last wednesday...It was very nice...We did not expect alot considering it was only $24.00 a night...It was very nice, clean...ironing board, hair dryer, safe...friendly staff....Had a breakfast...but I didn't eat...we left early

That is good to hear...We have ressies there for Nov/Dec and wanted to hear some recent experience there. Went by it last weekend and the place looked nice, we stayed at another hotel and wanted something a little better this coming trip when we are there longer....Any more recent experiences would be appreciated..thanks!!!

We stayed at the Country Inns & Suites, Calypsso Cay. It was lovely. The breakfast was really good!! Has a nice zero entry pool w/ a water slide.

It's about 10 minutes from TTC at Disney & 10 minutes from Sea World. About 1/2 hour from US.

I just got my latest issue of FamilyFun magazine and it has a two-page ad (Page 36-37) for Country Inns & Suites Summer Family BookBreak Package. It says kids stay free, receive a free bookbag featuring Lemony Snicket activity book, temporary tattoos, coloring gadget (??), Hi-C drink box, doorhanger/bookmark, and more. PLUS, it says you get a great family rate and free breakfast. It lists a web page of www.countryinns.com/familyfun but I cannot get it to come up. It gives a number of 1-800-456-4000 and says to ask for the "Summer Family BookBreak Package" when making reservations between May 1, 2004 and September 15, 2004. They list 4 properties in Orlando. However, I have never stayed at a Country Inn.
