Now I'm worried about Liberty Tree Tavern

We are trying several new restaurants that we haven't tried before during our October trip. My parents are coming with us this time and I thought it would be fun to take them to a character dinner on our first night. We haven't tried LTT before so I was planning on making PS there. But I just read a post about how the food tastes like Stouffer's frozen dinners!!! I know that Stouffer's is the sponsor but is all the food REALLY Stouffer's frozen dinners?? I thought that the Macaroni and Cheese and the stuffing were Stouffers but that everything else was fresh. If it really tastes like frozen dinner than I don't think I want that to my parents' first impression of a sit down WDW restaurant. Can anyone confirm or deny for my what the food really tastes like??

The mac and cheese IS Stouffers. The rst of it isn't. The flank steak, ham and turkey are all quite good. I love the rolls and the salad dressing--it's worth going just for those two things!!

I don't know what those folks were thinking but the only thing Stouffer's is the Mac & Cheese (which I like. :) ). I thourghly enjoy LTT for it's food, service and excellent character interaction. Here's a short review: Liberty Tree Tavern Review

I would never rely on ONE person's opinion on food at WDW. Some people are VERY picky. Then there's people like me, who hasn't yet found a meal he doesn't like. ;) Hopefully, you'll get some good feedback here.

LTT is a favorite. Easy to order food, nothing you have to take a risk in ordering. Its a relief after trying to decipher some of the menus in the Worldshowcase eateries. The atmosphere is colonial, they have the good rolls with that honey butter.

Its hard to gush over this place because of the simplicity of the food, but I guess that is one of the things that make it so good.

We have eaten at the LTT several times and have always had a wonderful meal. Mac and Cheese does taste as though it is out of a packet but the rest of the food is great. My particular favourite is the rolls and salad. We are going there twice for dinner during our stay at Halloween

We have eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern before and liked it!:D The mac and cheese was still good even though it is Stouffers. I thought the rest of the meal was very good. Definetly try it out.:D

We will probably be having lunch there. I know there will not be any characters and it's "off the menu" but is the food basically the same and just as good at the lunch?

Our family loves LTT for the Character meal. As stated in the other replies the food is very good even the Mac-n-Cheese.

The character interaction has always been above expectations they seem to be very attentaive to the guests, especially the kids.

If you're looking for a character lunch in MK why not try Crystal Palace. It's a buffet anfd you might like the food choices better.

We had an early dinner at the LTT last week on July 4th and it was wonderful. Yes, as already stated, the mac-n-cheese is Stouffers but the other food was delicious. There was turkey, ham, steak, stuffing, zucchini, mashed potatoes, gravy, warm rolls, a delightful salad with a strawberry vinegrette and cake for dessert. Just so you know, they have recently changed the cast of characters appearing. There is now Minnie, Pluto, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Miko (the racoon). My suggestion is go and enjoy it!:D

well, imho, if you want to fill up on rolls adn butter, then go for it!
however, the food all tasted like stouffers to me.
the turkey was not fresh REAL turkey, it was like one of those turkey rolls or something...
the ham was ok, btu again, not real fresh ham.
all the sides tasted like frozen stuff to me.

sorry, but when out to dinner, I prefer fresh not frozen.

Laura :)

8 days til WDW!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

We ate at LTT last month and thought it was very good. The rolls and salad are wonderful and the rest of the meal was very good. DD10 loved the mashed potatoes and DD3 ate lots of mac 'n cheese. The character interaction was great--each character came by our table at least 3 times and posed for pictures every time. Go and have a great time!!

ARe the mashed potatoes real mashed potatoes or are they instant and Is the turkey the "chopped and formed" truke they serve in tv dinners? Is it like the turkey they serve at Primetime?

It's always been a mystery to me how many people (probably 98%) rave about LTT. I ate there 2 years ago and swear it was turkey loaf. I love turkey dinner with all the fixings and was so psyched to eat there, but just didn't see what impressed people about this meal, especially for what it cost. Everything else was pretty good --- the flank steak was a little chewy. But the turkey was NOT legit.

The decor and character interactions were great.

We've eaten at LTT on 3 of our Disney trips. The first and last were for dinner with the characters. The first was great! We had a 5:30 ressie in December--the characters spent lots of time with the children. The turkey was real turkey. Our last time was for dinner at 5:25 on Memorial Day 2003. The characters practically ran by our table, barely letting us get 1 picture with each. And the turkey this time was definitely a turkey roll. The food at lunch was wonderful--a great selection-- and better than either night meal.
