....you are trying to book a DVC only room that is showing full but is being offered on Priceline.com. OKW and GFV I think OKW is DVC only. I know, I know there are cash rooms held or dvc has points themselves .. blaa . Blaa .... blaa. The optics are still bad though to their customers, mainly me!!! . I digress.

That room may have become available because one of your fellow DVC owners traded out to the Disney Collection. Remember that DVC has to pay for that somehow, and in that the case, technically that room WAS rented on points by an owner. Remember there are legitimate reasons for the cash availability, and at all DVC resorts like OKW, it is mostly a member trading out, which is no different, really, than another member renting their points through a broker or on the DIS.

No, because it is technically already booked on points, and DVC needs the cash to offset the cost of the trade. DVC has to pay Disney for the cruise, Adventures by Disney, or what ever the member traded into. Would you want your dues going up to pay for other members non-DVC Disney vacations? And then, if a member trades into RCI, a comparable DVC room is also turned over to RCI, taking taking it out of available inventory.

That is how trading works in virtually any timeshare.
