Just got home from seeing Wishes (very good). The MK was jammed but only a few "lost souls" were trickling into COP while Buzz, Speedway, SM, Orbiter, and People Mover were jammin'.

In all fairness, part of the reason might be that it has been closed so much that most folks don't bother to look to see if it is running. altho the reason it was closed was because it was not a huge draw anymore. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing it again!

IMO, the lost souls are the ones who don't ride CoP.

IMHO, its a 40 year old, outdated, antiquated attraction........and it best serves as a good place to take a nap.:smooth:

I heard the reason was that it is old and needs alot of regular maintenance so it was more economical to run it only during busy times.

We saw it during MNSSHP on 10/5.

I am really hoping this is open during the month of December or at least during MVMCPs. I have never been on it & would really like to experience it.

CoP is one of the few things that we always overlooked on all of our previous trips. When we went down this past August, we decided to give it a look. My dd, 9, was not happy about it, to say the least. Well....we loved it. Even dd said she was glad she had seen it. In fact, we finally had to ask her to stop singing the 'Great big beautiful tomorrow' song!!! She wants to do it on every trip from now on. And we actually found our 'antique' coffee pot in one of the scenes!!

I've always enjoyed the CoP and wished the ran it more often. I am going to the MK on Thanksgiving weekend JUST to see it, since it is only shown during busier times. I think if it is shown more often, more people would go to it. When I went last year, it was only running (during normal park hours) on Thanksgiving weekend. There was always a line and not an empty seat in my theater. I think that when it is open, Disney needs to make sure people are aware of this. I think people have gotten so used to it being closed, that they don't know when it is and is not open.

In my honest Disney fan opinion, CoP is a classic, just like Dumbo or Peter Pan. ::MickeyMo

outdated or not I don't care, I have never seen COP or Timekeeper and and really excited that they are supposed to be open during the time that they are redoing Alien Encounter to Stitch, I can't wait to see them in December.

thanks I thought it was only me. good for a chuckle if in the right mood and to rest the weary feet.

I really LIKE a few places where I can relax and close my eyes --- especially when it's hot. The Wedway People Mover (sorry, I never remember the current name) is one of my very favorite attractions for that reason. That's when I can really be mellow and truly enjoy, and 'take in' Disney.

You couldn't tell! I was at the party 10/5 and would have most definitely gone to see it if I knew! It may be antiquated, but it is so "Disney" - it was one of the things we went on at least once each time we were there!

I am soo sorry I missed it!

and were very disappointed when it wasn't open this past May when we were there. A CM told us what a lot of you already know, that it's only open during busier times.

We think it's a classic and really miss it. It is outdated a bit, but again, it's a classic. I think it truly has the Walt Disney, emphasis on WALT, magic. No, it's not a thrill a minute or a technological wonder, but it's magic.

I hope it's open when we're there 12/8 - 12/14.

I was SO excited to hear that COP and Timekeeper would be open during the AE "transformation" into Stitch (don't get me started... I'm still stinging and more than a little bitter about losing AE). I may have seen COP as a kid, but don't remember, and I somehow always wound up missing TimeKeeper until my last visit, when I vowed to see it (along with several other attractions I'd missed in the past), only to find out it had been closed. So these two will be at the top of my list for my Nov. 29-Dec. 6 trip!

the time keeper was very good (Robin williams was the robot if we remember right) HG WELLS I think, reminded me of the iimpressions of France but can't really remember much about it or why I think that! sorry , it's been awhile but it was a good attraction

COP is real Magic! True "Walt" magic, and that is what it is ALL about !!!!
cant wait to in it again! :)

I enjoy it as a classic Disney attraction, one of the things we so much enjoy there. Not a Mission: Space nor Men in Black nor Spidey, but a classic nonetheless.

I really enjoy Carousel of Progress, and I certainly hope it's open during my honeymoon this December. I read somewhere or another that it (along with Timekeeper) will be open while Alien Encounter is down for re-doing.

We took advantage of seeing it last week during MNSSHP. The theatre was fuller than I'd seen it in a long time. It's one of DH's favs. It IS Walt and that is what's so special about it. He was so ahead of his time in his imagination.
